i was skiing last weekend at my local mountain so i tried a cork and a misty, i landed only one because my ski would pop off. my setting on my bindings are 5 i think. do you think i should increase the din???

well me and my chick were gettin busy at her place when her parents were gone, we were in the basement so she says to go upstairs and get a condom and im naked and i obviously ran to go get it, it was dark as hell too so on my way back downstairs i missed the last 2 steps and fell flat on the ground with an boner, i was so lucky - Lateralis

when i got my skis mounted at the shop they had me fill out that paper and they set my bindings to 5 and i was popping out of them doing 1's, so i went and got the screwdriver and jacked them up to 9 and now they dont come off at all.

Take a screwdriver with you to the hill. Do the trick if the ski pops off jack it up the DIN by 1. Try the trick again if it still pops off jack it up 1 more and so on and so on. until the ski stays on. the DIN setting is set due to weight and ability, if it's set to high you'll damn rear rip your leg off before the ski will came off.

^if he takes a screwdriver with him to the hill and he pops out of his ski hes gonna fall and then the screwdriver will end up stabbing him and good job you basically told the kid to go kill himself

^Hmmmmmmmmmmm, good reenactment of a worst case scenario. Now, the other thing that could happen is that u'll land without the ski popping off and a rainbow will form as he flies in the air. A lepercauhn will be at the landing so u can take his gold and u and the lepercauhn can dance to irish music next to the pot of gold. Now wouldnt that be a great scenario?

My skis pop out quite often but I think its cause they are the cheapest markers and arent designed for jumping.Next year I´m not gonna save on bindings.

I was with that kid when he was doing his corks and mistys, he definitely needs to up the DIN, and I told him that, but apparently my advice isn't reassuring enough

normally I would just crank the din up by myself... but you need to have the shop do it for liability reasons. I forgot exactly why..??

-Pat

^liability what the hell are you talking about. Those forms you sign say basically if you go out and anything bad happens from breaking your equipment to killing yourself the shop is NOT LIABLE.

Oh yeah sorry about the screwdriver thing...... hope you didn't die...... or impail yourself in any way

^meng I don't think you know what your talking about. I talked to a local ski shop dewd about it. Ask Freezy and he would know. Your probably some punk ass bitch 13 year old who thinks he knows his shit tho, so I'm not really bothered by your dumbness.

Moron have you ever actually READ the contract your signing????? I just got my bindings mounted 2 weeks ago the contract clear about the shop not being liable.

Oh sorry since you've never actually paid for your own ski's you wouldn't know about the contract. Ask your mom what it's say.

the lowdown from a tech....

if your din setting (number) is calculated out at what your setting should be, thats where the din setting is set and reccomended for you ablility level, hight, wieght, age, skier type, and boot sole length. (at least it should be, depending on the shop, and if they know what the hell's goin on)

if your freestyling, you may want to consider cranking you dins up a bit, not too much, you dont want to break a leg, but maybe a number or two......

also, your foreword pressure (adjustment) must be correct, otherwise your binding will not function properly.....if set too big according to your boot sole, you'll pop out too late then you should, if set too short, you'll pop out prematurely

they told me i couldnt change the din by myself because of warenty issues...

-Thom Savery

please pardon the cacography

dont fuck around with your din, chances are its fine, the same shit was happening to me, all they did was change my bindings around, moved the back piece up and tightened the front piece down.... bring them to your shop im sure that all that needs to be done...

5 is good if you weigh like 80 lbs. you didn't say your weight though so it is hard to tell whether that is low or not.

My skis used to pop off so much, that eventually I started breaking the binding each time they popped off. The heal part, where you push down, would release from the bar that held it up, and allowed you to click in. So I got sick of that happening and cranked up the din a couple notches last season. I came back this season, being like 20 pounds heavier, and ended up doing the same thing...cranking the din up even a bit more.
