"POP"

Ive talked to a few people and they say that i can't pop very well, so someone should explain to me the proper way to pop and how to increase your pop, etc.

buy skis that pop, its not that hard dude, bend your legs, then at the edge of the lip push off of the ground, the higher off the ground you get the more pop you get, its all relitive really.

is the solution to this problem is to just jump harder whenever my toes get near to the edge of the lip??

you don't want the physics. if you want to go big in your head, you will. if that fails then just be light, use timing and the transition and just boost

Lean Back and then lean foward and shift your weight as you pop. Sorta throws you a little bit. Not sure if it will help but its something i do

try to just see how high u can get completly flat and still.. just pop big.. . like bend the skis off the tails, and then release and lean forward.. just working on this helped my air off of jumps... also try to incoporate spins in this.. like a 360 comeplty flat.. it will really help

yeah, i actually can jump onto the 3 ft high jumping box at school in weights class, but i guess i havent understood how to use my skis pop to actually pop

bend your knees coming into the tranny of the jump, once you've reached the lip right before take off extend your legs and push your hips forward. make sure you can feel your body weight forward and UP, and make sure you can feel your legs at the front of your boots, then explode and jump as hard as you can...

to increase "pop" you must first begin eating 5 oranges a day in order to gain enough vitamin c to withstand the pop you are about to get. Then, with one foot in the air, reach down and clap between you legs while screaming. This will create a permanent airflow between your legs. next time you go off a jump you will surely feel the difference. Are you insane? you're gonna make the poor kid land on his head!

Popping switch is easy, just cruise in knees bent, center of gravity down low, and literally "jump" off the lip. The important thing about popping switch is to be patient, don't pop to early.

you dont wanna " Just "JUMP"." its like a skateboard ollie... if u can work the physics of it you'll go higher... like the above poster was talking about jumping onto a rail flat.. u cant do that by just jumping (or maybe u can, it would be a lot harder anyways). Skis and boots are heavy and hard to just jump in.. but if u can use the flex and stiffness of your skis, you'll get higher than you'd think

just jump, you cant compare it to a skateboard ollie because on a skateboard you are standing a totally different way.

uhh, no, I guess I should have worded it differently... I meant by pushing your hips forward, you're increasing the overall extension of your lower body...and not so much forward, as forward and up

"just jump, you cant compare it to a skateboard ollie because on a skateboard you are standing a totally different way."

if you watch any video of pro or semi pro, and there doing a technical jump rather than just a huge air with lots of speed, they pop much like a skateboard does. The stiffness of a ski is a strong force. Use this force

dont listen to alot of these people cuz they dont have a clue what they are talkinga about. put your wait in the font of your boots as you aproach the lip of the jump. poping isnt jumping. if you jump hard you will look messy. at the top of the jump extend your body, but dont jump. think of pulling your body towards the sky.

well my main problem is on spins sometimes i notice that my legs and upper body arent lined up, which always makes for sketchy landings. Ive talked to people and asked if i could do a three on the ground with my skis on and i said no i can do a 180 and only because at the last second my skis whip around, and they mentioned i wasnt poping...

There is nothing complicated with "poping" its just fucking jumping, all the pros "pop" or "JUMP", god damn people.

You need to come up knees bent almost squatting then push your hips up like your humping pam anderson

basicaly its LIKE jumping but you use your skis and thighs as a springboard not your feet and calves. if that makes any sense...

as you come up to a jump put presure down on your skis you should now be in a low position (as though you are about to jump with shoes on)press down harder as you progres though the curved part of the launch (most of your weight should be infront of your binding) then just before you reach the lip let your skis spring back But shift the focus of the presure to your tails, your skis should spring back just as your tips cross the lip as soon as your skis relese this preasure extend your body (knees+spine) and "jump" you should know the rest

this is retarted. i don't care if you call jumping on a snowboard, skis, or diving board an ollie. but a skateboard ollie is a way different concept.

The reason the board jumps up in a skate ollie is the normal force of the ground when you kick the tail into it. It's not like you put weight on the tail and flex it, then release it.

People DO jump on skis by doing that - putting weight on their tails and then using that to jump - but I think that's mostly a flatground/for rails technique. I highly doubt anyone effectively does that on a 50+ foot table.

wow are you a fucking retard? a pop is a jump. You bend you're knees, as you come to the end of the jump you extend your legs effectivly sending you higher in the air instead of straight forward like a racer.

jumping and poping is DIFFERENT./... OFF A RAMP YOU JUMP... you just use your legs to push your boddy up... but like we were talking about earlier.. you cant just JUMP if you wanna get air flat.. you have to pop...

Considering a lot of you skiiers are better than me, why can't you get that straigh.. Pop involves POPING, as in making that nice like "pf" noise as you bend you skies and the nice little boost you get like "snap crackle POP". Wher is the POP when you just jump. You never really use pop of a ramp cuz itll just screw your balance, and the ramp will give u the force you need to get in the air
