i am sticking with big let down... halfway through i thought wtf was i thinking to pass up s6 for this? i have been a level1 fan for a long time to... sometimes you do things that doesn't make any sense.
 
I thought it was one of the worst movies I've seen..it was really boring. The music inTanner's part was OK, but everything else was kinda uncool. And they showed Tanner's crash like 20 times, c'mon man.

CR has been a letdown for three years now. Sure, he rides more big mountain and drops smome cliffs, but he will probably never top his Happy Dayz part, it's just unbelievable.

Tanner had some good stuff, but I'm guessing his teddy part is three times better. He can't hold onto his grabs anymore it seems, and that sw 9 over Chad's, it was crazy, yes, but it didin't look that good. That gap is way too fast for a trick to look good.

The Petit Brothers had some alright tricks, but nothing that Max and Tosh Peters wouldn't have done a 1000 times better. The Peters' rip.

Kye Petersen's part wasn't too funny. Lil Bow Wow indeed. His BC jumps were better this time though, but looking at other groms his age, he isn't that good and many others could have deserved that movie spot.

Chris Biollo didn't really stick to my mind, nothing bad, nothing too crazy. He did do natty and unnatty 7 over Pyramid, that was sick.

Tanner Rainville's part was fucked up. The picture ratio was waaaaay too small, what the hell was up with that? Then 1/3 through the segment these Flash made flowers fill the screen and you can't see what the hell T-rain is doing! A Big Minus.

Pep is what makes the movie. His part was way too short, but he has the sickest BC follow cam ever with the sickest sw cork 5 ever. His switch powder landings were a letdown, Austin Ramaley went miles bigger in Shanhai Six, but Pep has a million parts this year, so it's like collecting Pokémon: gotta get 'em all.

I give this movie 7+. There didn't seem to be as much effort as what went to WSKI106. The filming wasn't up to par at points, and the editing was smooth, that's a plus, but I just didn't like it that much. But I know many people do like it.
 
Scratch that "one of the worst movies I've ever seen", it wasn't. I was pissed at the moment I wrote that.

Maybe in slow motion, but I still think it would have looke better off some other jumps that was bigger (and slower). I'm not ragging, just didn't like the movie.

Yeah, but pretty much every trick looks a bit sketchy on it.. There are better gaps, you'll see in Teddybear Crisis.

There may be "better gaps" but Chad's is a fucking ski landmark. No one ever hit it switch. Ever, and he did with a sw cork 9, blunted out. It was sick, a milestone.

Maybe in TBC there are some sicker looking or astetically pleasing shots of gaps, and they're sick, but Chad's switch is nuts.
 
It is FUCKING CRAZY, you see the speed they're taking, it's unbelievable, but it's still really really fast. Actually those guys who went and hit it by themselves seemed to get a bit more air than Tanner and Kye, but it was full winter, so they maybe got some better speed..
 
^ I agree. It was sick that Tanner sw 9'd it but they are going sooo fucking fast down the inrun that you have to spin pretty damn fast. The movie was very very amateur in my opinion. They will probably do a better job next year but the filming was very shaky at best. Kye has been 14 for like 3 years now and he blows up every landing with spread eagles and zero style.
 
just saw it...

i bought it with wski106 at the toronto ski show and i was really let down with both videos, but PYB was simply disgusting.... editing was either distracting or uncreative or both. the music and lifestyle shots were absolutly hilarious, i mean, what ghetto fantasy are you trying to fulfill in front of suburban cracker kids? I love the 'i want to use people with darkskin for credibility' tactic that these guys keep bringing up... it just all seems pointless... I WANT TO SEE YOU SKI... i dont want to see people dance around and drink with hot girls, providing gratuitous ass and cleavedge shots... you know, cleavedge and asses are rad and all, but are you trying to appeal to 12 year old kids? it seems like that's just where the maturity level is on this project...

as for positive things, i thought pep, tanner and biollo (sp?) skied great... i'm not buying anything from tanner again, though

Anyway, I saw the movie. I havent seen WSKI, but I thought PYB was horrible. I have a huge collection of ski movies, and I can honestly say this is the worst one I've ever seen. I was really, really looking forward to it too, sucks to be let down. The movie is just amateur and immature, so immature. These kids trying soooooo hard to be thugs is just....pathetic I guess is the right word. There wasnt enough skiing in this movie, it was like they were just trying to impress everyone else about how cool they are. Like those people that walk down the college campus with their headphones blasting so loud, hoping someone else will be impressed with how loud their music is.

Tanner, CR, I don't care about how ghetto and thug you guys think you are. We just want to see sick skiing. You guys come from wealthy, white families and have the easiest lifestyle in the world, you are not "Thug and ghetto", you are spoiled. And thats OK by me, I was a ski bum all of last year and its cool, but goddamnit stop acting like such tools.
 
huge let down for me also.

skiing was amzing. everything else i dont think was up to par.

i wanted to leave at rainvills part with those plants in the way. some songs were alright. it was really short compared to other movies

but skiing was sick

i liked it. buy i was expecting it to be really really good but it wasnt too great. its alot better than booter crunk and not quite as good as war, and definatly not as good as shanghai six. there was too much shit with them all like dancing and acting all wangster. and each segment had a rap song. but the skiing was good and i just pretty much laughed at all the shit with tanner and everyone acting gangster, so it made me laugh alot.

i disagree with you completely. as athlethes, these guys are stepping it up and doing what they want to do with the sport. so many companies try to mold the athletes to what they want and finally athletes are actually doing whatever the fuck they want. that's the shit. look at what they've done with a small sum of the money that msp has. and think about how much more stoked kids are to work with tanner and cr than to work with msp. i wish people would recognize that and support the athletes that are out there working their ass's off rather than msp. don't fuckin knock them for their style either. that's who they are, what they're about. and shit, look at the direction of this movie compared to others. more powder, back country, lines, and urban shit. little to no park. that's the shit i wanna see. quality shit. natural shit. first hits into fresh landings. and anyone hating on tanner- you have no idea...he hasn't even peaked yet and cr- you guys are oblivious, he's one of the most well rounded and talented skiers in the industry.
 
i really liked it. just in rainvilles segment and all the segments after that the drinking and partying gets to be too long. kye petersen and the sean petit have the best segments. as does tanner! you can see his skill progressng in every shot
 
you've got no argument from me that the little guy is what will keep the sport feuled, thats clear... and like i said, the skill level of these guys is fucking, off the chain... but what i said, if you read my post, is that the film is simply made poorly. Kids with gangster style can still make a quality, fun, artsy movie... look at frosted flakes!!
 
Yeah, I thought Dubski sucked, but I pre-ordered PYB anyways. We'll see I guess. I need to get S6 and TBC though.
