Jesus 15 bucks? 20 at the door? I'd rather just buy the movie than pay 15 to see it once...

details about the after party to come..

PBP set the prices, we did not. These prices are not too dissimilar from the $15 that Level 1/4bi9 charged...especially considering over 500 people on campus are going to be getting in for $10 as part of their UFS membership............

They also had two movies, a bar, and a venue that we don't pay thousands of dollars a year to attend. I understand that you have no control over these prices. Just pointing out that $20 is quite pricey.

We have a few ideas for some afterparties. But I wanted to get your guys opinion on where/what you would like to see.

Ideally if you could respond today it would make it easier to get something cool together.

you guys gunna have enough seats? my only complaint from the 4bi9 and level 1 premiere was having to stand, seeing as there were only around 50 seats and a ton more guests

Social Behavior building has around 400 seats in it. Only once have I not found a seat in there, but since it has stadium seating in the back I found a seat on the stairs and still had a great time.

Like kyle said, the rail was worth 12 bucks to pay for two movies, but 15 bucks for a movie that sounds like its not that dope in a place where, like kyle said, pay thousands of dollars to attend and no bar. I think its stupid we have to pay that much to see a premier, im pretty sure the triple threat tour was FREE two years ago and what like 5 bucks maybe last year? Fucking poor boys.

Poor Boyz was free for everyone 2 years ago because UFS subsidized all the costs of it and wanted to let everyone see it for free, because UFS is way cool for sure. Poor Boys started the triple threat tour that year but it did not come to Utah, so UFS bought the rights to show the movie that year and decided to let everyone in free.

Last year Poor Boyz decided to bring the triple threat tour to Utah, they ran it themselves and had One Love do the leg work in exchange for discounts for its members. It was $10 for One Love members and $15 for everyone else.

This year Poor Boyz decided to return with the triple threat tour, they decided they wanted to run it themselves again this year because they like the profit the tour brings. Ski movies don't sell like they used to. Most ski movies can be bought for less than $5 on iTunes just a few months after they are released. A tour is one of the better options for making a profit in that industry. Poor Boyz again decided on a $15 entrance fee with $10 for UFS members..but they decided that they would raise the price to $20 at the door for procrastinators.

Honestly, your best bet is to just join UFS, even if you don't want one of their t-shirts or the discounts that it offers. The reason why it is ideal to join UFS this year is because you will get a $5 discount to poor boyz, free entrance to dendrite ($5 savings), free entrance to Field Production, and a discounted entrance to TGR. All of which is worth more than the $10 fee to join the club.

I am not sure how that could be the case, its not like there are ethical implications involved, but to each his own, and you are free to do what you like.

Anyway. PBP really is not doing much different than anyone else in the industry. MSP has been charging $15 for a long time. TGR has been charging $13-$20 for their tour, and more for their after parties. Level 1 is charging $15 across the country at most tour stops, even at some less than desirable venues. PBP is $15 if you buy in advance. Everyone should feel grateful that PBP is allowing $10 entrance for members of the only college ski club in Utah.

it is set from 6-2 so that we can get an after party in there after the movie is over. I will let you know if we can get a cool venue with drink specials set up later this week for the after party.

Looks like the after party will be at Gracies Bar in SLC. Everyone from PBP was stoked to have it there. We are still working on drink/food specials. The place is way chill and should be a good time with Sammy C in company.

haha...music was at a good level for the seats in the back... Drew Lederer insisted it was that loud. How'd everyone like the premier?

it was part of the agreement to be able to utilize the HD projector, speakers and larger screen at no extra cost to the audience. I hope it didn't make anyone too mad or anything, but we figured it was worth having that show in order to appreciate the PBP movie in HD, with better sound. And its applicability wasn't too far off base, I hope.
From what I got out of watching part of it, they basically just want college kids to sell alarm systems for them. Not a bad deal if you don't want to work in the winter during ski season but want to make enough money to support yourself during the ski season.
