Arizona Snowbowl's a pretty cool place. Probably won't go there again if they do this. I know it's treated, but if I fall, I don't want people's shit in my mouth.
 
Reclaimed water from some wastewater treatment plants is nearly as clean as drinking water. Even if you got snow in your mouth, you would not get sick. I think its a great idea. Reclaimed water is already used to irrigate many golf courses and parks. Why not add ski resorts to the list.
 
now that this has been mentioned, I've noticed sometimes on warm days it smells like shit at my hill. the whole fucking hill.

Old news. They will do this for this upcoming season. Work should be done soon. Treated waste water is just as clean as normal water. You can drink it straight. Is a great way to do it. Hope more places, mainly smaller ones, get on this program.
 
As far as PR goes, should have almost no negative impact. For starters, about 5% of people skiing there will even know about it. Most day ticket people have no idea what snow making is or how it is done or where the water comes from.
 
I did some construction work next to a sewer treatment plant that was being built at the same time. i asked one of the engineers how clean the water was when it came out of the pipe. he told me cleaner than drinking water. i said bullshit. he put his face right under the pipe where it was coming out, and drank it. I then believed him. Shit snow is not an issue.
 
It really is. The water from these plants goes through EXTENSIVE treatment. It's perfectly safe to drink, so why not to ski on?
