Hey so im doing mammoth's pond skim this weekend. I've never tried the pond skim nor water skied (successfully). They really limit how fast one can go and also the pond is 110ft long. Just wanted to hear some suggestions, costume ideas, experiences from it, or anything else relating to it.Thanks!

1-Mankini.

2-Hop in switch

3-Afterbang the pond-skimming

4-Shuffle that landing

5-???????

6-PROFIT

something ridiculous costume wise. tight and bright is always entertaining too.
go fastkeep your weight on your heels and lean back a bit when you hit the water

dont lean back too far tho or else you'll dive your tails in and lose all of your forward momentum. Just pretend you're trying to ride pow on centered park skis, lean back but not too hard

To continue with this, don't try to carve etc, unless you're planning on eating shit- which wouldn't be so bad either in a pond skimming event. Keep some weight on your heels and keep moving forward if you want a chance of making it to the end.

woah woah woah, they have a speed limit? thats really dumb and definitely nowhere near as fun. yes I know idiots would hurt themselves.

step 1: go to a goodwill and find yourself a pair of old combo waterskisstep 2: mount ski bindings to waterskisstep 3: dominate like a boss, but be warend turning on packed snow will severely suffer.

one piece suits, bright clothing, old goggles if you can, be creative. OHH and for me this year it was a dry suit. MY mountain was retarded and instead of moving it to the next weekend when it was 50 and sunny they had it when it was 15 and snowing.

i tried mine switch once. but the stupid pond was after a corner and a didnt carve hard enough on my second attempt (going way too fast, had no downhill edge).. flew out the side and landed on the crowd :P first attempt a made it right to the end, then lost speed.
