Pollard's segment in Focused

Alright, what is with Pollard's first segment in Focused, the one where hes just talking about making a lifestyle segment and his 'unnatural pensive'. It was wiieeeerrrd. I mean, I'm all for emotion showing through in people's skiing and their filmaking, but this was a little much. Not to mention, his second segment where he skis, the music was really slow and strange, def not one of the better segments of the film. I think Pollard is a nasty skier, smooth as shit, but what the hell is he doing???

Hahaha, oh my... You guys really missed the point of his first segment didnt you?

no, i got that it was supposed to be a joke and all....I hope..., but his second segment makes it look like he was totally serious w/ the wierd ass music and all. Shed some light on the issue enlightened nine milla killa...

It was making fun of Immersion , it was pretty funny.

However MSP usually makes fun of something, last year it was with that awesome bowling intro and Mike D needing to change his image

he was mocking all the morons that think lifestyle segments are cool.

Well I'm on this topic, I'd like to say something. I first got into newschool skiing about 5 years ago, and my first movies were 13 and the game. Although the tricks in those movies are admittedly less impressive than the tricks in the new movies, I like the old ones a whole lot better for one simple reason: it seems like i'm watching a bunch of guys that didn't take themselves too seriously having fun skiing together in the old ones, and in the new ones, it all seems to be about intensity, competition, and pretentious cooless, which we call steeze. Speaking of steeze, I'd rather watch CR do a 'hucked' crossed up 1440 and almost fall than see him do some gay 180 over a 40 foot table. 180s are gay.... i suck at tricks, but people think im good because i can do 180s and not move around a lot. i forget where i'm going with this.

I agree style is cool but 180's are gay unless it's a huge gap

I'd rather see a mind blowing trick that looked crappy than a stylie 180

Why should I not talk? Anyone who picks style over a Sick trick is an idiot.

I'm not sayin' That style is lame but I'd rather see a no grab 1440 than a safety 180

You know what guys, not every trick has to be either simple and stylie or outrageous and hucked. And I'd rather not see a pro in a movie do a 180 over a 40 foot table either just for that fact that I could easily do it and it wouldn't impress me. What impresses me are big, technical tricks that people make look good, like Tanner's D-spin 1080 in Happy Dayz. That's fucking unreal.

I dont know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

you have to understand that back in 13 and the game days new tricks were coming out like mad, but now that pretty much all are dialed skiers have to be creative in what they do

did that fucker just diss primus?

and if you think his 'lifestyle' seg was fo real

you got alot to learn go back to your eastcoast shanty bitch

not all style is slow 180s. it is a certain style but it isnt the definition of style. gorilla isnt the only style out there. look at candides style, it is sick but its more of a big spinning style.

i thought for pollard to have a segment like that that he is one of them most respected skiers. i thought it was funny. kinda showed his character too. hes good. i think he is on the right track for skiing.
