Pollards in the park.

Ok, so i bought a pair of Line Pollard pros.. 166 because they were stupid cheap, and i'm gonna need new skis next year, so might as well get em cheap. They seem pretty stiff, and sick for all mountain, but i ski mostly park (Indiana doesnt offer much outside of park). So, my question is for those of you that ski the Pollards, are they too stiff for park, or what? i skied STLs this year, so these are gonna be a totally different ski.

the only time i have actually seen people riding them has been in the park, so they can't be that bad. they still kill it all mountian though.

yeah. i know they aren't reallt that stiff, but i'm used to my STLs, and before them TMs, so i don't really normally ski stiff boards. i'll prolly keep them. they seem fun.

Where'd you mount them? Put them at +2 or so. They'll kill it switch. Although it kind of bothers me that the 166 length even existed.

i ski pollards, they perform well in the park. i like the width for some stability on landings, but they arent too wide. i can butter them and whatnot.

ill be super rich and own mt.hood and let everybody from ns ski for free... except freezed

are u kidding the pollard is like one of the stiffest twins. and why on earth did you get the 166?

pollards are really stiff skis but they are so nice. i ride my 186 pollards in the park all the time. they are perfect. you dont need 2 pairs of skis

i got a 166 because i'm like 5'5" i should prolly have like a 172ish ski.... but they were only 180 dollars, brand new, still in the plastic, so i did it. now my questions are answered, so let this thread die.

pollards are stiffer than say tm's or stls, but they aren't that stiff. they are actually ideal for an all-mtn ski as the stiffness is great in varied conditions. the only thing they lack is a bit more width, which i tend to lean toward when getting a ski.

also, if you want to ski the pollard outside the park, i wouldn't mount it too much forward of the suggested mount point, if at all, as the further forward you go, the shittier they will be. the suggested point gives you plenty of tail, they ski switch great from there and the swing weight is already minimal

i rode 186 pollards the majority of the season, they weren't as stiff as my cr's but more stiff than my trouble makers, i had them center mounted and they rode great in/out of the park

...ps the tails are huuuuge when you center mount them

Henry's right- I've skied park on Pollards for two seasons and even at the suggested mounting point they killed it switch, you really don't need to mount them forward at all if you don't want to.

They're not that stiff at all and I like their width in the park. However, after skiing a 186 in the park for a few years I'm ready to step back and use a smaller, more nimble ski- I never really felt like I could throw big spins with such a big ski, even though they're hella light. They suited me fine big, floating smoothness.
