1.C

2.B

3.D

toward the end of the year i found myself driving an extra 30 minutes and paying for a ticket to ski a better park (bear's), when i have a season pass to blue and i live 10 minutes away from it...after i came home from colorado (march 12th) i did not ski blue mountain once, in fact, the last time i skied blue was february 24th...after that the only local mountain i skied was bear....how sad is that, when i live 10 minutes away from blue

when i buck buck, you better duck duck!

when i went i was very disapointed. there were some ok rails like the c-rail and rainbows and flat-drop-down rail but there wasnt any kickers onto the rail so there was noway to get onto them. The jumps were horible. Go to bear creek it has a great park

sucks

camelback for sure

1 Blue mountains terrain parks both lick my testicles

2 Roundtop sucks as well, there parks good once a weeks but lets be serious the east coasts a fuckin joke

3 i cant even believe you put the pipe on here...the only pipe i even consider hitting at blue mountain is glass and filled with herb

1. Blue mt, needs to start from scratch, new trail, new policy, new out look, (wont happen)

2. BEAR CREEK ya god damn ryte

3. Everything needs to be revamped, theyre parks were good like 7 or 8 years ago, but jibbing was nt like it is then

PsychoTHROWNDOWN SINCE 1989!!!

Proud to be first to clean Bears S rail ever! HAHA BOYER

^but they care about their geusts. they are super nice to everyone there. its run really well. alot of courtesy and respect. awesome for families, or just a great day of skiing. no hassles.

free ski check! that is another huge reason i like blue.

shitty park rats? hmm i dont know about that one

"the other day i finally saw it, finally saw what i have always wanted to see. I saw someone get hit by a car." -Dane

they care about their guests? i was planning on staying out of this thread til that comment. maybe they care about the ones who buy daily lift tickets for an exhorbitant $42, but they dont give a crap about season pass holders or employees. when a friend who happened to have snowblades at the time came into the lodge with the snowblades to go to ski patrol and get a bandage because he was bleeding, what happened? some crabby old janitor threatened to take his pass because he brought his snowblades in the lodge. he didnt offer to go get ski patrol or some gauze and a bandage for him, he threatened him. they also essentially ruined an employee's brand new pair of skis, gave him only a portion of the money he needed to get a new pair, refused to give him his skis back because they were too damaged to be used, then proceeded to fix them and sell them to another employee. management at that place sucks. and those shitty park rats? thats me, my brother, and some of my best friends, who are better skiers than most people at that mountain. call me full of myself if you want, but i ski the park there because there is nothing else thats challenging, unless you want to try to ski challenge on an icy day. and us shitty park rats, whether blue realizes it, or wants to admit it or not, are the future of the progression of this sport, and if they dont start catering to our requests soon, its going to hurt them. its a new generation for skiing. the people who grew up with steve and bill mahre winning gold medals for the US in the olympics are growing older and arent going to be the biggest segment of lift ticket sales much longer. our age group is growing larger in that respect, and if something doesnt change, people are going to start looking elsewhere, somewhere like bear creek, that takes into consideration what this new generation fo skiers and snowboarders looks for in a ski area. 15 foot jumps with rutted out landings and ride on rails is certainly not it. you can't cater to everyone all at once, you have to give and take, make some compromises in some places to make others better, and vice versa. things need to change at blue mountain.

to actually answer the survey though...

(1) The Blue Mountain terrain park...

C - I use it because I have a season pass, I prefer a different mountain.

I had a pass to blue and bear last year. I skied blue on weekends when i was home to work because it was close to home, but during the week while i was at school, my friends and i would go to bear because the park was much better.

(2) I prefer the terrain park at...

B - Bear Creek

They regularly groom their terrain park, change features around, have gaps onto rails, and have jumps bigger than 20 feet that actually have landings. Blue mountain could not compete with bear's park last year.

(3) The terrain feature I would most like to see updated is...

D - All of the above.

Make bigger jumps, maintain all the jumps better, put in some easier flat rails so there isnt such an ability gab between really easy boxes and hard kinked and curved rails. its a natural prgression to go from a box to a flat rail and then on to something more technically difficult. make gaps onto rails. contrary to upper management belief, its easier to get onto a rail that you have to jump onto as opposed to just turing your skis sideways. ride ons get chewed up much easier and its also easier to catch an edge. as far as the pipe goes, you got a new pipe groomer; widen the pipe so it can be used how it is supposed to.

well, so your experience sucked, but ive only been to blue twice. and i feel the same way you do about camelback.

so for a "tourist" its very nice. other than that, i geuss it sucks.

its not just "his experience" though...its been all our (the locals) experiences the past how many years...the park has not gotten much better recently, and if it doesnt this year, i think they will lose a lot of business to better parks in the area. No one can progress at that place because the features arent good enough. i feel pretty confident that i've accomplished almost all there is to accomplish on blue's park features. the lack of a good park is getting old; when we were younger and smaller it was ok, but anymore the park is holding us back and that's sad that the thing that is keeping us from progressing has nothing to do with our mentality toward skiing or our abilities on skis

when i buck buck, you better duck duck!

i love the rails, a straight long rail would be nice but thats just not the problem, its everything else man. Thanks justo, thank god other people realize it

"the other day i finally saw it, finally saw what i have always wanted to see. I saw someone get hit by a car." -Dane

by no means do i need a flat easier rail, there's nothing there rail wise that i havent cleaned, but progressing from the flat box and mailbox to the downkink rail or the battleship or rainbow is a daunting task. you need a happy medium, which is where a few flat rails would fall. and like kevin has said, my point of view on blue is not limited to myself. ask any of the local kids at blue who have been there since their very first terrain park in the lower park, to the first year they had a park on sidewinder, to what they have today. sure, there may be more features now, but quality-wise, there has been a regression. there used to be a handrail style rail going from the deck of the halfpipe down to the lower park, about 30 feet long. that was a sick rail; guess what happened to it? they hit it with a groomer and it got bent, so they turned it into the current c rail. and the first year there was a park on sidewinder, they didnt have many features, 3 jumps and 3 rails if i am correct, but you had to have balls to hit it. that first night they opened it up, you could count on one hand the number of kids who were hitting landing on that first hit. and no, they werent overshooting. right after that was a right side hip that was equally large. jay stinsman was boosting that thing so high that he literally had his skis parallel to the power lines for the lights. blue needs to grow some balls and start making stuff scary again. its the only way people are going to progress there. you always have to take it to the next level, and the past few years, blue has been stagnant.

you got it justo, the first day sidewinder had a park may have been the biggest hit i have seen in pa to this date. it was so ill, but they just keep getting smaller and smaller.

"the other day i finally saw it, finally saw what i have always wanted to see. I saw someone get hit by a car." -Dane

blue is prob the shittest park and mt. in the tri state area and if u ride there park u prob r 1 of the shitty ass parkrats that used to be underneath me on all my landings goin way 2 slow cause no1 can expect to progress ne where riding at blue

^ dude i dont know who the fuck you are but kevin is one of the best skiers in the state, he fucking owns you and your mother and father, justo is sick as well and i like to believe that im pretty good too. you need to shut your fucking mouth because blue mt is one of the best mountains in the area if you actually do want to ski, most vertical in pa, hmmm.... razors edge....hmmm. i bet you cant even ski outside the park though and you sit at home crying while it snows cause you cant hit a rail. fuckin move to florida and die

I enjoy picking my nose

yea what the fuck....just cuz the park is hella shitty, doesnt mean that all of the people who ride there are. come up to blue and ride with us and we'll show you what the fuck we're talking about

when i buck buck, you better duck duck!

chris420, go back to second grade and learn how to spell; then maybe i will take what you said into consideration. we all agree that blue's park has sucked as of recently. there's no denying that. blaming the "park rats" doesn't get you anywhere and only makes you sound less intelligent, because, given more difficult terrain, we'll tear it up. this will be my 18th season on snow. don't tell me i can't ski out of the park. Miller used to race on stuff icier than most people would care to even look at, and both of us have won skiercross comps before. yeah, there's kids in the park who suck, and granted, shouldn't be there, but those are the kids who just started skiing recently since it has gained popularity. those of us who have been there and ski the park, albeit a crappy one, ski it because there is nothing else at that mountain that challenges us.

as far as all around terrain goes, not much else compares to blue. it's twice the vertical of bear creek, has more trails than any other resort in the area except camelback, and has better lifts than most other areas. since i dont ski the terrain park every single run of my life, i would much rather ski at blue than other area mountains solely based on the fact that there is much more varied terrain to choose from. sure, bear's park is great, but if you want to take a legit run, its over in thirty seconds. camelback might have a good pipe, but again, they have no vertical. margie's delight might be steep for the first 200 feet, but thats it; it completely flattens out after the first and only headwall.

i believe chris' original intent was for this thread to influence blue mountain in a positive way, so maybe we should bring this thing back on track and give them some ideas as to why no one likes their park instead of just bashing those of us who like to ski there for various reason, ok?

first of all u dont kno who the fuck i am my name is chris brown and im livin in fuckin SLC bitch riding brighton and PC so shut the fuck up and admit that blue mt is the worst mt in tri state area

then why the hell do you waste your fucking time coming into this regional forum just to bash on a small town mountain you ass hole. do you have nothing better to do than bash our mountain? who cares if its not that good, its the closest decent mountain around and we make of it what we can. go find something better to do than sit here and say shit about blue, especially when you dont even live here

when i buck buck, you better duck duck!

congratulations, you live in an area of the US that gets a lot more snow and has a lot more terrain to work with. you still havent accomplished or proven anything, or really contributed anything beneficial to this thread. no kidding areas in utah are better than here. some of us, for various reasons, are stuck here for a few years. we realize blue is not the best resort in the country, but as far as what we have around here, it doesnt get much better terrain wise. i dont care who you are, the name chris brown means nothing to me. i know who runs the show at blue, and guess what, its not you. i used to work there too, i know what its like. i'm in college right now, so i don't really have the option of riding brighton every day, so i make due with what i have. like i said before, your ignorant comments just make you look stupid, don't waste your time if you arent going to contribute anything of worth.

There we go, Brighton is the example Blue needs. In my opinion, some of the lines off of Millicent chair at Brighton are some of the most fun lift accessed BC in the country, AND, their park is sweet. Anyway, lets all stop the trash talkin' and just go partake in some illegal substances and forget about all this hatred. By the way Mr. Brown, don't be so quick to talk shit man. It will get you nowhere with these thugs. Kevin, Miller, and Justin killed my mother and I am currently hunting them down. God help your family.

^he spits the troof, and im the least punk ass kid you will meet, i just get pissed when kids hate on me and my friends for no reason. besides we all know anybody who was ever worth anything here, and ive never heard of you

I enjoy picking my nose

first of all i wasnt key wasnt hatin on u i said blue sucks which is y i tried not to ride there when i was stuck in pa and u would prob shit ur pants if u have the chance to hit a little 20 ft cliff or even gaze upon pyrmaid or chads let alone attempt and i doesnt matter what was it matters what is

Haha, aight man lets all get together and we'll see if you can redeem yourself. maybe you'll be able to hang with the shitty park rats. then we'll come crash your couch in Salt Lake for a few days after a dump in big cottonwood.

but you were. i believe you called us "shitty park rats". and i have already said, we realize its not the best place to ski, but thats all we have. and in the end, a crappy day of skiing is better than no skiing at all, right? and for the love of god, learn how to put together a coherent sentence. it will get you far in life.

ok, kill it in the bc, hmm lets see what did i do last season? oh yeah i went to breck and we got 2 feet of fresh so i hiked peak 8 and skiied the lake chutes, hmmm i cant ski outside the park at all, i really suck alot. suck dick.

I enjoy picking my nose

and oh yeah, i managed to drop a 25 foot cliff without shitting my pants, in fact i enjoyed it thouroghly

I enjoy picking my nose

I think that Blues terrain park should have larger jumps and larger rainbow and battleship rails. Other than that i think the mountain is all right for all around free style skiing.

You prefer Camelbacks Park?? Help rep the park at CB to get them to notch it up this year, will ya?
