in unpopulous areas i completely agree, speeds should be suggested, and you should only be stopped if you are driving irresponsibly, but on highways i think it helps to keep people from playing traffic slalom
 
im going to have to disagree. first off, cops may get powerhungry and just claim you were doing more then you were. or you could just dispute it wich would likely cause fights/arguements. i think that speeding tickets are a good thing because people would likely try and fly 120 through a neighbourhood.
 
im definitely going to have to disagree. when you start going fast enough, you will lose control of your car, no matter the conditions. you may be a good driver, but most people aren't able to control a car nearly as well as they should be able to at high speeds.
 
i asked my dad one time whats the lowest speed you were going and still got pulled over adn he said he was going like 8 over the speed limit and some prick pulled him over haha
 
a man was pulled over for speeding only by a small margin and he got casually talking with the cop. after giving him his ticket, the cop asked him what he did for a living. the man replied that he stretched ass holes. the cop was slightly offended, but questioned about this obscure profession. "well" the man replied, "i use a special tool and when someone needs me too, i stretch their asshole. i start out with someting very small, but i stretch it farther and farther until it is about 6 feet wide." the cop asked "what would anybody do with a 6 foot asshole?" the man replied "they give it a radar gun and put it on the side of the highway to give out speeding tickets" and drove off.

that santa thing makes me feel proud to be jewish since you wont see judah macabee on the side of the road with a radar gun

 
buddy i am going to have to agree with whoever that was up there. no matter if it was a cheap way to get caught. you were breaking the law, and you got caught. there is no sence bitching about it.

Anyway, speeding is irresponsible. I love to go fast, don't get me wrong, I ride my ATV's dirtbike, jetskis and ski fast. I can do those things fast and not harm anybody, but when you go out on the road and speed (like 20+ over, I drive up to 10 over) you put other people at risk, that's not cool. There are so many other things besides driving that you can do to get your adrenaline fill so why run the risk (even if it is very small) of hurting or killing somebody else.
 
well then how do they decide if its 'irresponsible'????? thats rediculous, at least with speeding it is a concrete thing, 'driving irresponsible' is purely opinionated. Cops could give you a ticket for driving 20 if they think is 'irresponsible' or for taking corner 'too fast'. basically you idea would not work
 
I disagree. A truck doing 50 km on Ice (especially if 4WD) will actually handle ok. Not great, but if you aren't being a douche, you will be fine.

If you speed, and get caught, you get ticketed. Suck it up princess.

haha, I got pulled over two days ago for going 87 in a 65 in my S4, and was like, dude, in this car,on this freeway, its not that bad, it was completly safe. It was totally a speed trap and I was so pissed that I got caught, but after talking to him for like twenty minutes, he saw my side and decided to not give me a ticket.

Speed limits are just ballpark estimations that are all right like when there is bad weather or heavy traffic, or in a neighborhood, or in the middle of a town. But on the freeway, it should be open limits, where cops only pull you over for reckless driving.
