That does suck, totally unnecessary response on the police's part. I recently went to a house party with 6 kegs and 150+ people, and when the cops showed up, all they did was clear everyone out. They didn't arrest or cite anyone, even the owners of the house. One cop even walked through the crowd in the back yard with his flashlight, saying "It's too dark back here, I don't see anybody."
 
yeah cops hate us because we "ruin the roads its bullshit because you have a 2 ton vehicle driving on roads and they yell at me a 120 pound kid for ruining roads. They are to lazy to find real problems.
 
it's getting really annoying to hear so many people complain about how cops are doing their jobs.maybe when your rights are really raped from your grasp you should complain. big deal. seriously.
 
It seems entirely pointless for the cops to waste their manpower on teenagers drinking which is harming only themselves (provided they don't do anything fucking retarded i.e. drinking + driving, etc.).Sure if a party gets out of control loud and things are getting broken in the neighborhood it makes sense for the cops to show up, but only to kick everyone out and get on with their jobs.
 
yeah, but if it wasnt their jobs to give tickets or citations they wouldnt. my brother got a ticket for drinking in the park past 10. but thats the just the way the dice roles. the rule is stupid, but it's a rule, and suffer the consequences of getting caught. isn't that common sense?
 
I live in NH and 2 nights ago I went to a friends place out on the border of our town. So, being in NH, and the fact that his driveway goes out into the woods a ways, it's pretty obvious we were good to go. There was only about 12 of us there, but there was plenty of alcohol and a copious amount of weed. All in all, good times.
Getting busted sucks but I guess it mostly depends on your location - One advantage of the sticks!
 
Its our right as citizens to protest any unfair laws. I agree if you get caught its completely your fault, and you do have to learn to accept the rules (I got an MIP, I was stupid, yadada). It just seems like the police could be doing something better with their time than handing out underage citations at a house party that wasn't out of control.
 
im sorry, but everyone here is atleast a little buit retarted. sure, you view drinking as relativley harmless, and you have good fun with it. but none the less, alchohol consumption under the age of 21, is indeed against the law. and it is a police officers job to to retain the law. and for all you saying they need to go catch all of those murderers, and what not, you may not know but a police only has jurisdiction over the town in which he is occupied. he can not run two towns over to catch some meth addict. so stop bitching, if your going to break the law, be prepared to deal with the consequences when you are caught. they are just doing their jobs.
 
well, i mean while i agree some cops can be dickwads, and have experienced some of those myself. i think a lot of people have to understand the fact is, certain cops jobs are to apprehend crack heads, or crooked mayors, and then some apprehend dumb college students. i dont personally think the law is unfair, that underage drinking is illegal, frankly maybe 21 is a little ridiculous, but its the law.maybe you thought it wasn't out of control, but maybe your neighbour was just like, #@$@#$%!and i know, partying is awesome, i get hammered too. but i fucking hate my neighbours when they party. especially when its so obscure like tuesday night at 2am and i have to work tomorrow kind of shit.i think a lot of us dont realize how obnoxious we can become when we're drunk, me included.

i was at a kick back about a week ago and we were just playin some pong in the garage and the neighbors called the cops, and four cruisers came to the house. there were about 9 people at the party, it was pretty ridiculous
 
so where i live there is a spot where there is a fire pit in the middle of the woods, we live in MA. and the only way to the pit is from MA. so in order for it to get busted vermont cops have to come to MA and crash it. Sounds flawless right? well we had parties there for like 2 weeks, and eventually everyone around heard about the "white oaks" parties so this past friday it was massive, around 2 am. 8 cruisers show up and before i even noticed there was cops they were standing in front of me. Cops took down our names, adresses,phone numbers, and what we blew. if you blew anything you got a citation they handed out about 30 citations and everyone under 18 had to get picked up by a parent. so based on other stories i guess cops are crackin down everywehre.
 
haha, i actually have a good story about cops. my friends were playin pong in the garage and a sheriff came in and asked what they were doin, saw what they were doin, then told them not to stack cups and roll the garage down half way

oh and everyone shut up about the whole argument in here, sometimes you do stupid shit and get caught so you have to deal with it...i dont blame the cops or anything i just thought they were excessive last night.
 
i wasnt at it but these kids i know had a party and in this town there are no more then 3 cops on dutie at any time but for this party they thought it was nessicary to bring a bus load of cops.. they only arrested the kid having the party but all the kids they caught got there shit taken down
 
Agreed. If you are not breaking the law, then you don't have to worry about it. I think people forget that they are hired to enforce the law, whether it be a petty crime like underage drinking, or a more serious crime like drug dealing. Just don't make them do their job.
 
There are much better examples of serious crimes than drug dealing. Most the ones I know are harmless.

And how can you have a fun party without lighting things on fire???
 
OK, a bit harsh, but really its useless for police to come out and breakup parties like that. I was at a party last year and 4 cop cars came and shut down the entire block to look for one kid who skipped out on a $10 cab fair. Now that is fucking useless.
 
sounds similar to an experience of mine. once apon a time, it was like a good sized shindig in a fairly residential neighborhood on a golf course. the cops came, YAY. so we were all stuck inside , like "ohh shit the cops, Waaaa". and a bunch of people decided to peace out the back and escape on the golf course.. BUT suprise, the police were already there! with the the crusiers on the fiarway ahaha. then some idiots hid in the attic and fell through above the parents room. and then around 4 in the morning the parents volvo exploded in flames and burned part of the house. conclusion.. awesome night for those who avoided arrest.. i.e. myself :)
 
there was a part with about 300+ people, and the cops waited till 5 am to start breathalizing peeople and only 80 people got tickets for underage, and like everyone was sleeping haha..
 
yanno, i live in newark, and for the most part, i do think police are awesome. and if you just keep the music to a respectable level, and close the blinds and stuff.... make sure everyone parks their cars a block away or so.... you really should be fine.
 
He said something about them waiting for a warrant. Thats pretty unusual though usually they just stick around for a couple hours and leave if nobody is stupid enough to open up the door.
