Poles

Yeah start "no polin"... just like all the pro skiers on movies and stuff...oh wait. They all use poles. And maybe they use poles for a reason too.

Yeah I have "saw" Idea. And yeah I think it's retarded to ski without poles. Poles help you balance and help to plan smooth turns in crud...or moguls...or powder, and help you move on flat stuff so you don't just duck walk like a retard. If you learn how to use them, they should in no way hinder your skiing ability. If you are just not using them because you think it makes you look cool because you aren't conforming, then have fun. If you poke yourself in the tummy or in the face it just means you don't have any idea where you are putting them. If you actually learn to use them to your advantage, you would understand their necessity. But what do I know...

Yo if you want to use poles, use poles and if you dont then dont. Its your way of skiing and you shouldnt let some online forum dictate what you want to do. We were bored in the park the other night and decided to go without poles and its actually pretty fun to fuck around.

no poles is the way to go...i started the season with poles but then ditched them a few weeks ago and my riding has been so much more fun...its so easy to ride switch/ land switch/ spin easier/ grab easier/ huck easier/ and it just looks better if you know what your doing....and i've been riding mad powder without em and i out rally everyone...just make sure you got some big ol fattys to ride on. but yea, it sucks when you hit mad flats with lots of powder...

so today, i snapped 1 of my JP vs J skis....fuckin lame as fuck! i was skiing powder to...and thats the 2nd JP vs J ski ive broken....Armada is lettin me down, big time...and no poles was still sick as fuck today....good few feet of powder and i didnt crash once....once you learn to not use poles, skiing becomes oh so much more fun....poles are like training wheels....riding powder without poles is so fun, you can put your hands down and feel the flow of the snow....but if you like your poles then dont worry about it, stick with em...but if your lookin for a fun change, ditch em....

I like poles cause when i get on a cattrack and my legs are tired i can use my poles to push. or when imgoign into a jump with not enough speed not only can i skate i can use my poles and make myself go faster its pretty cool try it sometime. also as a girl i need my self defence haha

wait your not saying you can skate ski and use your poles at the same time are you? cause if you are then you got some super long poles.

I've got very short poles you just lean with it rock with it. you dont need long poles to skate and push

the other day inthe pow was pretty fun with no poles when i forgot them. i could grab trees and do cool stuff with my hands, but i still love polesmore

Skiing with ppoles can be fun and helpful. Skiing without poles can be fun and helpful; I just see it as another cool accesory i get to claim as a skier. I think the reason most people find the nopolean skiing abraisive is due to the fact that it does resemble snowboarding and nobody wants to lose their sports identity. I think both can have their advantages based on what kind of skiing our doing but i swear the next time i get snaked by a little prepubescent hip-hop shit head kid showing off for his friends ill change my mind.

I agree were skiers. nice avatar though.. alot of line skiers started out on blades; some of us have summer hobbies too. check out d-structure (iannick b and mike nick...anyone?)

i personnaly like skiing with poles n pow just looks better 2 me but if u can do it it looks good... ive ditched em a lil bit tho
