I like no poles for a variety of reasons. The biggest reason is because I Snomobile ski most of the time and when you have one hand holding your skis and the other holding the handlebars so you can 2-man up a hill, there just isn't any place to carry your poles!
That mindset translated into the rest of my skiing and I just started figuring, why even take these things. Unless I am ascending mountains via alpine touring, then they are very usefull.
