Poles

I have a question about poles. Why do people buy $60 poles from companies like joystick or armada when they can go out and buy $10 poles from there local shop? What makes joysticks so much better then a normal pole. Is it better material?, does it flex better?, is it not gunna break easy?, or is it just because of the cool checkerboard graphics?

I know armada has there whole "pole system" but why do u need them in seperate parts? How many times do u really break a pole so much tht u need a knew one?

I go to the ski shop and get the cheapest damn poles and they get banged up and they end up crooked by the end of the season. and i get new ones the next year.

If i go and buy $60 poles am i gunna ski better? Is it gunna make any difference?

i broke four pairs of poles last season. the armada system caters to people like me. but personally, i'm a fan of using cheap old poles and swapping out my favorite grips and baskets.

a lot of people like supporting those types of companies, and spending a little more because it is freeskiing oriented and helps out the freeskiing community

i like little kid poles, they are cheap light and get the job done but i can see where the armada system would be handy. After 3 pairs in a season it gets annoying having 2 different poles and having to leave half way through a day. They are made of better aluminum so they stay straighter longer, so yeah i guess it would be worth it.

i had the same pair for like 2 seasons. they are only bent a little bit but still usable. maybe i just dont shred hard enough

The only poles worth spending money on are carbon fiber poles. If they break = free new ones because they aren't supose to break. Luckly i snaged a pair for 5 bucks with some shop deal.

i have a pair of these really cool LEKI poles with straps you leave on your glove.

and the strap clicks in and out of the pole.

they make me look a little like a racer, but they are amazing for teaching with.

dude u justed answered ur own question but ya joysticks look sick and r sick and work well those k2 poles look dope they have a flex patern its sweet

i bought em cause all the pros havvem, and i idolise them

i used scott racing poles for a while but joyssticks where its att man

poles are so overrated just dont use them, and when a powder day comes jack some from the rental shop

if u are buying poles for 10 bucks u are getting shitty poles.

they will break period.

and id say people buy armada and joystick becuase they are supporting the more CORE companies than huge industry companies

Ive been bitched at so many times trying to snag them from the big rental wall, and look like an idiot runing away in my ski boots.

poles dont make a difference, use teh cheapest poles you can find that fit your right and your set. But i do understand why people buy armada and joystick in order to suppport teh freeskiing industry.

yeah man i pimped out some hyland rental poles, then the first day i used them they broke...i almost cried

but whenever i go in there i will just straight up ask for them n they give them to me

How do you break those? They are like fiberglass, they just splinter and you can still use them, they are so dank.

yeah well they splintered almost the entire length of the pole...but yeah those poles kick ass

armada system works wonders. i broke 3 poles last year and its cheap to replace them. plus they look sick. thats like saying there's no point to buying a sick jacket b/c any ugly waterproff one will work.

my dad has a pic when he was a kid of his poles...he stole em and he spray painted em like a candy cane. lol damn sick im gunna do that

i have carbon fiber poles that i traded with a guy...and by traded i mean i left my old rental poles and jacked his while he was in the lodge...then i painted them so they look cool

^haha yeah thats a pretty cool idea. But ehm the armada poles just look sick and better if u break ur poles often u can consider to buy some

i actually just boughta pair of thall poles for like 32 dollars or something...cool system but basically when i break them i am just going to take all the other odd poles i have and switch grips....i usually just rock w/e poles i can find butt his year i am basically re-doing my whole set up soo....

i went through 10 pairs of poles at my hill but i didnt pay for any so it evens it self out

i have some scott composite poles. never bend outta shape are super lite and got em for 30 dollas. and like mister [e]heath said you get a refund or a nother pair if they break cause they aint spousta.

i taped mine pink and black in a candycane way

and then my friend eddy (aka ec156) made his rastaand his looked sick

the way to go is steal rental poles then paint'em! that way u dont spend money and get to use ur own design.

ive somehow managed to make my poles last 3 seasons of falling on them

they have been bent back and forth so many times that i will have to get new ones this year so i dont break them on the hill
