Poles

i wear them always, ihate when it plants or somehing and you lose em, and then half to hike up and get it and then you look like a fag

i hate if i crash and i have to fetch my poles it just sucks. i never seem to have problems so it works.
 
i always have them on if a strap broke i would make a new one out of duct tape or something i never ski without the straps on
 
depends what kind of skiing im doing park i take them off, cuz if you fall weird its pritty easy to hurt your hand with them one. But when I'm skiing BC or even moguls I put themoncuzits a bitch having walk and get them.
 
almost never have em on. cause i am afraid i will fall on them. i have em for super long groomers maybe or pow pow. otherwise nah
 
i never put them on. Ive had broken thumbs and torn ligaments. 2 times in my right hand, and once in my left. it sux so bad not being able to use your thumbs. dont use em. there's a reason its called SKIER'S THUMB
 
just leave your staps loose, that way they stay on so you aren't chasing them all over the hill, but it allows enough freedom of movement to prevent almost all wrist, hand injuries.
 
dude, the straps aren't what does that.... it's you dragging your thumb on the ground when you fall and stick your hand out to catch yourself.
 
yea, its like the most common injury in skiing i think, happends to me and my friends all the time.. just keep your thump "under" your fingers..
 
i always keep the straps on b/c i don't want to have to hike after it or drop it in the lift or something
 
just keep them loose....everytime I fall (even when I did not use straps for 2 seasons) my poles always seemed to still be in my hands...since we are talking about poles...i bought a pair of Scott a-12's yesterday and they are bad ass...great poles
 
i wear 'em with straps, but i wear 'em so that i can't break my wrists. i put my hand up through from underneith and then grap the pole with the strap under my hand... it actually works, i've had some hard falls and no problems with the poles. try it.
