well im just curious to see what people still think about ...

i hate no poles....

post what you think.

Poles!!!

when i was just going over the jumps and not doing any thing off them they got in my way and i didnt use them... now i use them all the time

omfg, i finally thought this topic was dead. WHY WONT IT GO AWAY. its like a scary movie and it just wont die!

please search there have been shit loads of threads about this from last season. like 1 in every 5 threads was about poles and poles it seemed.

skiing is skiing mo'fuckas.check my paragrah thing in the simon dumont issue of Freeskier. the pole or no pole article

no poles last year because of an injury. and poles this season because poles are awesome.

lolz.its not a trend.. it has so many obvious advantages in certain settings..

i don't use poles most of the time when I ski because I would be an idiot if I did...they get in the way of shovels, rakes, drills and other objects or tools.

when you ski without poles that much because of your job, then when you ski for fun its really easy to not use poles either especially in the park.

no poles is laid back and chill and i know people who have fucked themselves up with their poles on sketchy landings and catching edge on flats too..

so rock the poles all you want, we could really care less if you drop the poles or not.. but no poles is not a trend, some people do it because of their job, and other people just like the freedom of it..

seriously, think about all the park crew skiers you've seen skiing around..if they don't have tools in their hand, do they have poles? Nope...

as long as your on 2 planks instead of one why does it make a difference if you have poles or not... skiing is skiing

Sometimes I do fuck around with no poles. Grabs are fun and it's just a different feel in general. But there's no way I could do it 100% of the time. The lift line is enough reason for me to stick with poles.

bike accident, came up short on a road gap and snapped my arm, a shit ton of nerve damage and scar tissue and whatnot.

man, when i first got on this site almost a year ago, im pretty sure this is the first thread i made too.

i got raped with SEARCHBAR NOOB and such...good times...

to everyone ripping on this creator of this thread: shut it because he wasn't trying to stir the pot regarding the poles-no poles discussion, he was simply looking to see how peoples attitudes towards no poles has changed since it was last an issue (roughly a year ago).... perspective people

here on the ice coast i found theres really no need for them at all. i didnt use them for anything anyways, so i just dropped them. plus hands in the pockets steeze is dope...

haha trend? now that people realize that for the most part, poles are completely useless, no poles is only gonna get more popular. poles fuck with your style and make shit look sloppy with your poles flying all over the place, really i cant see any point at all to using poles.

When I'm skiing powder I like to use the searchbar but when I'm skiing park I find that there is no need for the SEARCHBARZZ.

Just kidding. I still use poles but it's fun in the spring sometimes when you're just fucking around and I don't use my poles.

If you use poles great. if you don't great. as long as your having fun. i don't use poles and i have gotten plenty of hate from other skiers. including some of the top name pros that are fueling this heated debate. how about everyone doesn't concern themselves with everyone else and just enjoys skiing the way they want too. im sick of being judged worse at comps because the judges are biased and are trying to kill a different style of thinking. just remember why your out on the hill each day... to progress and have a good time. smoke a blunt and get stoked on your fellow riders. End the hate.

One Love.

i got my thumbs blown off playing with grenades back in '01...but i was allready riding no-poles so i wasnt too bummed

not another one of these threads.............ugggghhhh do w.e. you want, poles or no poles at least you arent strapped in a snowboard

only times i've evr ridden without poles were when i was like 3-4 because it was hard to find poles small enough for me, and this spring when my buddies and i built a little kicker on the hill in our hood and just hit that for a few hours. i prefer poles though, it's a lot easier to turn and i guess i've just gotten used to having them in my hands whenever i have skis on my feet.

anyone else ever notice that the people that don't use poles don't get pissed at people with poles. no polers don't give a shit what you do they are just doing their own thing.
