Poles: new or old

poles dont amtter at all, anyone who spends more then like, $20 on poles is retarted, you can always steal them from your local mountain

who cares, just get some cheap poles that will break if you land on them (my bro broke his collar bone by having the pole jam into the ground in front of him, and the handle hit the bone)

what type of question is that who the fuck cares buy what YOU like not what some people on the internet who you dont know like. yea man that shit about getting em free at your local mountain is true, buy ill gogles instead.

with old ones, they break really easy, last season i just got some old ones but i went through like 6 pairs last year. So this year i bought some decent Rossignols. lets hope i dont break them.

buckshot2003 has a hilarious fucking signature. i laughed and laughed and laughed and laughed, then i realized he's fucked in the head and i quit

a story...

so back in the day, about 10 yrs or so, everything in the ski industry was growing in regard to the technical aspect. straight skis were almost dead, even by then, and shapes were dominating. so, anyways, my friend decided to get all brand new gear (yes, the 1080s (who didnt?), new helmet, new goggles, etc.), but his bride and joy were these fucking 'titanium' poles that he thought were all strong and lightweight and shit. so were up at the stomping grounds, ski bumps and as he is in a fall line, he catches an edge and all 100 pds of him lands on one of his brand new ($80) titanium poles and it bends like a fucking twig. he still has the same poles and to this day we cant get the fucking thing straight, whereas my $5/used alumis are as straight as an arrow.

moral to the story: poles r overrated. besides, if u ski fast enuf, no one will know what kind u use ne way, right?

poles are kinda like underwear. No one really cares wtf you are using/wearing. So the toolbox who spends $80 on underwear is really no better than the guy who spends $5.

cuz they have rad graphics and are lighter than any other pole i've ever held plus i got mine cheap so ya but i agree i wouldnt spend 100$ on poles

i've had a pair of scott poles from the 70's for 5 years with leather straps and hard plastic grips, and after i've landed on them several times, they don't have a ding in them. save yourself some money, find some old ass poles.

I've got one pole that has the old school plastic solid hand holder on it, and the other is a rossi that is reasonably new and insanely bent

yea so i look like a racer sometimes

poles are in, then, consider me out. get the cheapest ones you can. dont waste your money on some trendy bullshit. my ¢2

old poles are dope. my favorite old pair from last year had no paint on em any more, but started out with pink, green, red and orange shapes on em. i was pretty bummed when those bit it

they are soo light graeme it fees like theres nuthing in your hand when u are holding them. I wouldnt pay 100$ but they are deff the best pole on the market right now

do you actually ski for fashion, trust me if you throw a switch cork 1080 no one will care what kind of poles you have.

i have two pairs of poles one pair are old neon pink, and i have another lighter pair thatare all black i think i spent way under $50 bucks for them both

Get some old or really cheap poles because you are going to bend them anywhay. The grafics do not matter, they are gonna be partially scraped off by the time yo put your skis on haha.

If you do care about the "beauty" of your poles paint them your way, be creative.

when i got my first pair of skis 5 years ago. i spent some money and got some nice scott carbon poles.. i have had them ever since and have landed on them numerous times.. i mean yea they are scratched but they have held up raelly well and i mean yea they cost a bit of money.. but it was well worth it

lets all buy whatevers in, because that means its cool and we will rule the mountain because we are cool and have cool poles.

go to your local ski patrol hut and ask them for poles theyve picked up under lifts lines... if your nice enough, theyll might give you a pair... like they did to me
