Poles for out west

I've basically never skied w poles in the park being from Minnesota. I have super short Armada triad poles that are alright, but 'll be in Winter Park in January. Looking for a pole that I can use in the park and in the trees and some fresh snow out there. Any recommendations? I don't know if adjustable poles are accepted in the park or not or what a good, relatively cheap set of poles is. Thanks!

Accepted? Dawg you can use anything where ever you want. I used the Pollard Paint Brush poles from Line as dual purpose forever. They took a LOT to break plus they aren't crazy expensive. I would just go the adjustable route it's easier and you can size it up when you're skiing outside the park.

thanks dawg! I checked those out they look nice, what size are yours adjustable from?

Nobody cares what poles you ski with.

Adjustable are nice, but really I'd just suggest something with a pow basket. I hate getting my poles caught in the snow if the baskets poke through the top layer of crust. I'd suggest checkin out thrift stores

Exactly.

You can just go into the lost and found and say "I lost my poles, do you have any that were turned in recently? They were...uh...Scott's...I think, blue, maybe black grips...about this (arms outstretched) big...do you know if you've seen any like that in the last few days? I think I left them on the rack out here, or maybe leaned against the side of my car?

Anyway keep it vague, loose and act very friendly and you can hook up some new poles.

Op how tall are you? Unless you have a specific pole height preference, that is what will be used to size you up. I do agree though, adjustable poles are dope. They're just pricier than when you could spend $25 and get a standard pair of poles with pow baskets

Yo! Do you go to U of M? The ski club trip to Winter Park is in January, so I'm guessing you're with the club?

I’m from MN too. I just have a pair of adjustable line poles. They came with pow baskets. And have held up everywhere. I’ve probably had them for like 4 years now. Send it out there!
