Pole Straps

So I just got my first pair of park poles (Mad Owl Parkores). They are pretty steezy. I noticed that I can remove the straps, and it got me thinking of when the last time I used pole straps in the park was, and I cant remember. How many of you use pole straps, and how many either cut them off of remove them? Im thinking of removing them but the 'proper' skiier in me is hesitant about it for some reason, dispite the fact that these poles serve no function other than looking steezy and pushing about on the flats as they are 37" poles.

Opinions on pole straps go go go.

Don't matter. If they get in your way the take em off but if they don't its a waste of energy. Doesn't affect style.

i use them because its a pain in the ass to go chasing my poles around the hill every time i fall. however i sometimes take them off when trying new stuff because its less scary to fall if you can just throw them aside and have your hands completely free.

I would keep them because if your trying a new trick you can still use the poles just don't put your hands through the straps.

Im still pretty new, most stuff is new for me unfortunately. I am learning later than most. The cool think about these mad owls is that I can just pop the straps out with a screwdriver, no need to cut them.

My poles have a little thing that Swix calls "add tab" (nicer version of Line Grab Tabs) on them, so I strap in and the pole never leaves my hand. I love it! Infact I find that when I'm skiing around with normal poles now I'm constantly dropping them.

Of course the not so great thing is that sometimes crashing is a little more painful than necessary..
