is there any way to find what pole length you need without using poles?

your poles stacked on top of each other should not exceed your verticle height, a rep told me.

the vertical length is bullshit - everybody's poles should exceed your height, when put together!!!

Look at the chart I posted.

Let's take an average height of 180cm (6') - that'd give you maximum 3' poles (90cm) - that's pretty damn short!!!

i would say its a matther of opinion but, maybe if youre 180 you should go with 120 or something like that.

i like shorter poles, less swing weight and easier to plant quickly on the backside of a mogul and still not get your hands coming back at your head

Ok, to solve everybody's problem:

Buy some nice Leki adjustable poles, and set them to half your height (if you can't figure it out, it's the same as stacking two poles on top of each other, and not having them exceed your height, and NO, a rep didn't tell me that).

When you see that the poles are too long and you look like a dick, extend the poles a little.

I bought 48' scott poles but theyre too long so i cut them down to a steezy 42'

Heres a way to figure it out perfectly. Go to your local hill to ski, rent some poles for like 4 bucks and try them out, if you dont like the length, go trade them for a different length and keep doing that untill you find the ones you like... then go buy that length. Have fun

or, go to a shop, grab a pair of poles, flip em, grab under the basket, and find a pair that make your arm go at a 90 degree angle.
