this might just be gay but some other forums that I post on sometimes like Grasscity.com and Skateperception.com have points or like this rating system where if mods happen to see that someone made an intelligent/good/helpful post or reply, they can choose to up their points. Same goes if u just post whore or post stupid shit your rating might go down. I dont know wat the reward is or would be for earning a certain amount of points other than some e-resepect but idunno it might encourage better posts and would add some moce spice u kno

ehh, im not really sure about that, I think NS would become way to civilized if that ever happend. I think the set up of NS is fine how it is at the moment

It doesnt matter if NS is civilized or not it works out fine. People will actually make legit posts.
 
I think a karma system/respect system would be sweet. Like keep post count, and replace the word by the post count that refers to the post count. Then in its place put words again but based on how good of a member you are. There could be like 10-15 different levels. I think it would really keep hate down, and ecourage good posting. But do we want to stop hate? its a hard decison.
 
i dont think it will stop the hate cause ns would be kinda dull without those retarded posts here and there but i think it would be cool to have that just as something new
 
and the point wouldnt be to rate everyone... just if you happen to be posting a lot and arent being a dumbfuck u might get a point or cause of ur dope promo or something

if you could put like a coding on it for length of post and have people vote on the legitimacy of the post that would be cool

you wouldnt have to rate everybody, just if they make a good point, or say something funny or whatever you give them some extra points at your own leasiure
 
this man here deserves a cookie. but too add, at first it would be only mods and a few they select, as they go they can add peopel with good rating to be able to vote... etc. OR have it so you can only rate each person once, and it only fluxtuates a TINY bit per vote, have 10 levels ranging from "dirt ass mothafucka" to "jesus" or something
 
It could be cool, you dont have to get everybody rated, just the people that really stand out. It doesnt have to be a big numbers deal, maybe even 3 respect point thingers could be considered big.
 
If the site had started that way, then I could see us using it. But it would be too much of a change I think.
 
seems pretty simple to me... make a good thread that helps peopel out and u get some karma points

It does sound like a lot of extra work. For Paul. I wouldn't want to write the code for this... and I doubt NS is going to be overhauled for a while, we haven't had ns3 for that long.
 
you could avoid the mods having to rate every person. Say...everyone starts with a neutral rating, then if you'r ea douche bag and have stupid posts it gets decreased and if you have good posts and suck the mods nuts you get + rating, eh?
 
yea it was all true but i forgot i just got off full-probation so they said ill probaly just get drug testing and probation for another year
 
no they wouldnt. if you happened to make a good post and the mods happened to be on at that time then good for you, you get + rep
 
If people stopped spamming and making stupid posts...it would solve all this. No karma/point system, no recoding, no new bitching.

Lets just play nice on the forums.
