Pocket Rockets OR Motherships?

i love my pocket rockets, but i hear the mother ships are off the heez... theyre spose to be stiffer than the rockets...

It depends on what you do. Pocket Rockets are sweet all over the mountain. Motherships in my opinion dont really handle lift to lift riding when you cant get to the BC.

pocket rockets only if you goin to be doin trails too. but if you are goin to be goin OB and stuff all the time id go with the motherships

Line is a skiboard company, if you want big skiboards ride line, if you want a real ski, get the dynastar-little big fat. dopest ski out there, its got a shovel made like a surfboard, to increase lift, and it is the lightest ski around, the money shot, plus dope graphix

little big fats are ill, and if 178 is too short for you, you can get the inspired in a 188, they're pretty much the same ski, different graphic

moships all the way. the pocket rockets are too soft most of the time and chatter way to much. the moships are a bit big for the park, but if you practice a bit, the park is easy with 'em.

Yeah, the pocket rockets are way too played out. now they are becoming the ski of poser big mountain riders. They are cool if you are actually good. the motherships are way better. they handle pretty good on hardpack, they are very stable all around.

i would also suggest the AK Rocket... its a fat ski, good for big mountain, has a little bit of up backtail and are just super good, too expensive though

I demoed both last season, I liked the pocket rockets more, though they both are really nice skis.

im ridin the pocket rockets, and they frickin rock. i would get those if i were you, cuz line is shitty. or you could wait and get a pair of the k2 seth pistols. the k2 rep showed them to me, and they were pretty phat. a little wider than the pocket but still bad ass.

 
hey jib, have you been on a pair of lines since their shitty year 3 years ago? they are pretty kick ass, don't fall apart as easy and look good. but if they don't fit your riding style, i understand, just don't say they are shit.

hahaha a skiboard brand, you dumb fag. w/e. anyways, I've never heard much too bad about the Poccket Rockets but this years Motherships are supposed to be a lot stiffer and a nicer ride than last year's, I've only heard awesome reviews. and don't forget they're comin in 172, 182, and 192 so whoever said anything about them being too big must not know about that cause I don't think I'd wanna go to powder in anything shorter than a 172 haha, I wouldn't go that small anyways but hey.

yeah, the last time i road a line ski was probably bout 2 or 3 years ago when they were bad. so i guess i havent like them since then. so i dont really have the right to say they are shitty, but i just really like the rockets.

 
Line used to suck... they are okay now... but not good.

Motherships are too fat.

Pocket Rockets are okay but too played out

Stomps and Sugar Daddies are way to heavey and expensive

I'd go with the Seth Pistol... its probably perfect

Well actually i personally would never buy the Seth Pistol; because i don't like Seth Morrison. But i do know that they are amazing skis

anyone take a ride on the other brands powder skis? (volkyl, atomic, etc...) i've seen 'em a few times, but can't remember the fuckin names and haven't heard any reviews on them. The only bad things i've ever had happen to my pocket rockets are ice chatter and one pair last year snapped in half after a cliff flip, but other than that i can't complain about 'em.

yeah, i guess the seth pistol are suppose to be pretty good. a little stiffer and fatter than the pocket rockets. another ski that has the same dimensions as the pocket rockets, are the scratch bc. they're pretty bad ass, i road them for a day last year at demo days

 
volant has a new ski out called the spatula. my guess is that it is a piece of shit. it is reverse camber and reverse sidecut. mcconkey designed it. pure backcountry ski.

 
so, are the seth pistols really worth the money for the majority of skiers that ski Back country but don't go heli or such.

my opinion is no... anyone?

that's why im not getting them. they are too damn fat. 5 mm wider than the pockets and scartch bc at the waste. the pocket rocket is about as fat as im going to ski probably

 
The motherships work better for Big Mountain and jumps where as the pocket rockets are more for laid back powder with a jump added in there somewhere...if u want something that works better with jumps...get the motherships.

 
As your name is KootenyGuy, I assume you live in that area and ski a lot of powder all the time. If you aren't going to be skiing much else than that, especially park or pipe, you shouldn't worry about the weight. Pocket Rockets are great, same with any of the Big Atomics, but definetly look into the Motherships. The're nice and fat and would be a sick ski.

 
ooooh... 5mm you do realize that that is only one half of one frickin cm which or about one sixth of an inch or a really tiny amount.

 
volant isn't producing the spatula. and it depends entirely on how you ski, i thought I was going to die on pocket rockets because they flopped all over the place, but if you ski relatively slow then get them. I don't like turning so I bought volkl because they plow through everything even when you don't turn.

i don;t know about you but i can notice my 75mm waist on my 1080 177, and the new 1080 with a 80 waist being more stble. All around i think it does make a difference. Even though are are many other aspects too it to.

Personally I like the pocket rockets better than the mothership though i've heard great things 'bout the Mothership. another powder ski that i've not ridden myself, but you asked for others are the Bandit XXX form rossignol. not sure how these run, but there you go.

hey bakerlocal, if you werent such a dumbshit, you would probably realize that there is a difference in ski, even wehn there is only a 5 mm difference. it is only 5 mm differnet in the waste, the tip is 8 mm wider. but you probably couldnt realize the difference, cuz your a mossback. your prob just a poser that thinks your good cuz you ski 10 times a year.

 
POCKET ROCKET no question. And for the kid that said that they chatter, they don't, they are way smooth and stable unless you are a pussy.

pocket rockets are the shit. i'm 5'10'' and i got the 175s...they are sweet and alot of fun...definately an all around ski. i havent had a chance to ride them in powder, but they were great in everything else. i love them...i love to sleep with them...they are good to me.

 
i've skied both and the motherships are far supior, honestly trust me they are really really nice skis
