or don't buy foam core skis.... but if you already did mount them in the recomened spot they are powder skis then park skis so you should mount them whats best in powder

mount them on the mounting line, if you dont you will be fighting the design of the skis then entire time.

I demoed them and they were sick so if you like foam core why not.

Yeh, and make sure you get the wide break ( 105 mm)

you can get any Salomon type S binding ( s912-s914-s916)...

or any other binding with wide breaks!

but why would you like a foam core? they are weaker and alot more pron to breakage, they lose pop due to breakage in the core, and they are very nowhere near as stable at higher speeds as a wood core ski is. And if your spending that type of money you might as well get a good pair of wood core fat skis.

dude he has his decision made..he obviously got info and the ski and found out httas what he needs so get off his dick

no it´s like this: ive got em for about 400, in sweden thats super cheap, in skishops they cost about 750 so i think its worth it. but i dont want any salomon bindning. thats why im asking.

ive heard alot of shit about these skis are they as bad as they say? i think 90% of the people who say that they suck acually never tried them they just listen to what everybody else say. ????

i started a post about how everyone said they were bad...and everyone saide thats not true and that they loved them everywhere

haha ok. i think that the best way to find out is by riding them myself.

^^ I don't love them at all. Actually, they suck. But, mount some Fritschi Freerides on them.

i ride PRs and they are sick the end. All pr haters are either jealous they dont own a pair or are way to fat

pocket rockets are awesome!! i own a pair of them and a pair of p.e.'s and they are the best all mountain skis. I love them

i've ridden the pocket rockets and they are no where near the stablitiy of other wood core fat skis (pistols, motherships, etc.) also i want a ski that has a greater chance of NOT breaking. If you got a good deal on them go for it, but there are far better fat skis out there.

^then why are you afraid of 'breaking PRs' ???? I'm seen douglas rip on those things and chances are he gone way bigger than you and that he also rides his PRs way harder than you do

he also gets free skis whenever he wants...

i've been riding a pair of pocket rockets for the past two seasons and found them to be suitable for most everything. i've skied them out west and here in the east and have been happy the whole time...except when the core gave out.

that's right, the core in one of the skis has become permanently deformed and while they are not unridable, i am getting a new pair of skis for next season.

If you weigh under 170 pounds, these may be suitable, but I weigh 165 and these gave out on me. Great ski, but needs a stiffer core.

/\ point provin, and he is not the first i have heard the same story from, i don't get free skis so why buy a ski that has a shity core? and by the way the PR that douglas rides are wood core all salomon's riders ride woodcore skis but you can not buy them.

Lighter riders won't mind the foam core unless of course you rip, and ski very aggresively. Its not so much the core that I didn't like about them, its just that I didn't like the overall ride. They were decent. 3 stars out of 5. But, if you ski powder often, don't weigh too much, and got a good deal on them, then more power to you, because odds are you will like the ski.

i ride PRs in fact i'm still riding the orginal Pocket Rockets and they are in awesome condition minus a couple of cosmetic blemishes. No loss of pop and or breakages - from my point of view they tock !! My little bro also bought last years PRs and hes also had no probs with them

i used to ride the dynastar candide pro model but i broke them pretty much only afer one season and i'm still going strong on the PRs. From my opinion a foam core is just as likely to break as a wood core.

^ i have to disagree with your statement. I went through two pairs of pr's in one season, due to the ski breaking in half. since then i've stepped up my level of skiing and haven't broken a ski yet. a wood core is just more durable and a more responsive/livelier. it also doesn't break down as quickly when you use it constantly. my pr's were each on the snow no more than 20 days before they each snapped. haven't had that happen since on a non foam core.

adios

well each to his own i suppose, maybe your skiign technique is wrong or something because breaking breaking two pairs of PRs after less than 20 days is not right ....

how did you break your skis? landing directly on your tails after dropping a 30fter??

I've ridden my PRs hard for a while, but when I bent them, it was just though normal skiing while I was rehabing my ACL...hardly landing a 30ft on my tails. Just thought i should add that.

i'm atually not to sure about the PR's being wood for the cores i shouldn't have said that i just know they do that for the 1080's their pro's use. I just assumed they would prob do the same with their freestyle fat ski too.

'maybe your skiign technique is wrong or something because breaking breaking two pairs of PRs after less than 20 days' the 'something' is a poorly constructed foam core ski. If you're planing on using these skis only a few times a year go for them but I'm planing on riding my mo'ships as my primary ski all season so, i'm going with a more durrable ski.

salomon only puts wood cores in their pro's ski. in the past it's all been foam in their retail lineup. i haven't checked out this next years setup though, so maybe they've come to a realization this year.
