POC vs Giro Sizing

I currently have a Giro helmet and looking to get a POC Receptor Bug. I have a large Giro helmet and looking at the POC size chart, it seems that a POC XL helmet matches the size of a large Giro helmet. Does this seem about right?

Wish I could try on the POC but my local shop doesn't carry them.
 
I have a poc and i'm looking to get a giro shiv!

The sizing with poc is weird because i normally fit like a 7 1/4 size hat, but i got a medium poc helmet. at first it was too small, but i took the round end of a screwdriver and packed out the places that were tight on my head.. now it's custom fitting and awesome!

So i would suggest a large and see how that fits when you get it. If it's wayyy to small, then send it back, but if it's just really snug, try packing out the foam on the inside. hope this helps
 
measure your head with a tape measure then look to see what poc recommends for your head measurement. when you get the helmet, mess around with taking some of the pads out/swapping for thinner ones, etc until you like the fit. then, if you took padding out, put duct tape over the velcro so it doesn't get stuck on your beanie or goggle foam or anything. i did it it fits great! just play with it and find the way that works for you.

also depends on whether you wear a beanie and goggles under...
 
Yep, if you're planning on switching from Giro to POC I'd go one size up. I have a medium shiv, but when I tried on a large receptor bug it fit perfectly.
