Poc jetforce pack?

Anyone demoed? Would it be worthwhile having it as an extra precaution for going solo? The terrain usually never gets to a loaded point where it is going to release from the slab but it is just those rare occasions it gets hard to judge. Had an incident last year with triggering a small release but just skied through it and didn't get pulled under.

Mainly be using it for day hikes into fresh snow, any advice would be appreciated.

I've used it many times. The Jet Force will replace the canister systems in 2 to 3 years no questions. The battery and charge system works like a dream. No need for refills and is fly safe. All that said I still would never use it as an excuse to go solo. It is not a grantee and the fact are that most avi deaths are still trauma. Do not ski in any slide conditions solo. Just my 2 cents.

This so much. People are starting to lose their good judgement because of all this new technology regarding avalanche safety. An airbag is no guarantee that you will survive. It is merely an aid to keep you closer to the surface for quicker recovery times in a full burial situation.

Avalanches are a serious thing. They are nothing to mess around with. If you havent taken you Avy 1, I would take the course before even considering buying an airbag, or even going solo into avalanche terrain.

Never go solo! A lot of avvy deaths could've been prevented by having a ski buddy dig you out. Been covered n packed in snow doesn't let you move n possible not breath. Come on buddy don't do it. Having someone is way more important than having a airbag or avalung.

Fortunately enough, the fields that I ride are mostly ice. Have no one to tour with as it is hardly done in this part of the country, better to take a volcanic eruption over an avvy any day.

Cheers for the the advice on the pack will definitely pick one up as a pre-caution. Definitely will have an experienced partner when going down to the southern hills

pretty sure it's the way forward, we have 2 jetforces in our shop one for sale and one in rental, things work like a charm! personally i think i'm going to go with my abs a few more years until the jetforce becomes a little lighter and takes up less room in the pack ....

I've messed around with them too and I think its for sure going to replace compressed air. If youve got the cash definitely grab one.
