I just discovered after a short drive that there is a busted old chairlift adjacent (sort of behind) Belleayre mountain, and the one run I could see looked incredibly overgrown and awesome! It kind of reminded me of mad river glen.

I can't remember the name of the lift, I just know it had the word "friend" or "friends" in it. Have any of you seen this? I'm totally poaching it next season!
 
haha theres a way to get to that from belleayre without driving then i can ski down to my house after i ski down it its nice and steep if you know where to go..
 
i've been told about this place by some old dude on a lift, i guess there is a run down old ski area adjacent of behind belleayre, word is if you continue up the road instead of taking that left it is around there
 
hahha highmount eh? that place is sweet!!! if you go make sure its snowed alot (obviously) and grab an old tele guy to take you there, they are gooood fun. usually if you wanna make more than one run over there park a few cars at the bottom of highmount so you dont have to walk back. the walking part is a bitch, but if you do have to walk chill at the corner for a few mins and the belleayre bus will pick you up for a $1. not a bad deal. just make sure it's really snowed over there. we had a huge group do it quite a few times this year. on one run my friend pointed to this knoll right by the rundowned chair lift and said to go over it. so i did. at like maximum speed not even thinking that it would drop off and send me into this giant gully. i hit the gully, skis kicked out from underneath me, knees smacked into my face, and i got all sorts of fucked up. definitely a long hard drive home with a concussion.
 
^haha yea i kno exactly what your talking about and it has all the metal poles that stick up outta the snow that u can land on its pretty sketchy and yea theres no landing besides the big gully....yea linds-o-rama p.m me when you come up to belleayre and mayb me and my buddies well take you over there it used to be nice when only the locals knew about it but now everyone knows about it since they put an article about it SKIER magazine a year or two ago
 
belleayre and plattekill has some really nice stuff to poach. i love belleayre. but seriously if you really wanna hit up highmount just find a grizzly looking tele guy...they're always in large groups hahah. just be nice, toke one up with them and they'll show you teh way all day long!
 
^hahaha mike ur a newb cuz u got deleted...yea that was the funniest shit of the year watching aj fall down that small chute and off a cliff haha
