my best day at baker was 4 years ago it snowed about 2 feet the night before and was still snowing. On the way up a log fell down in the middle of the highway luckily i got up there before it fell. There was no one there with freshies to be had ALL day long.
got any good stories of legendary PNW powder??
 
I'm pretty sure it was that same storm...

We closed out a ridiculously deep day and when we were about to head back to Bellingham around 4:30, Duncan informed us that WSDOT closed 542. We spent the night in gurneys at the patrol shack at the base of Chair 1. If I had been granted one more drink at the Taproom that night I probably would have had the sense to fool around with the defibrillator hanging above my head. Upon waking up to Nickelback's "Photograph" and getting our shit together we heard about that downed tree, so not only were we first chair on a day that was almost too deep to ski, but nobody else got up there until noon.

Count it.
 
so doing some research it turns out the ocean temps this year are some of the lowest on record. the only time they were this cold was back in 1955

the record for stevens pass snowfall was that same year, 1955

it's gonna be fucking CRAZY this year
 
I am already getting ready for an EPIC season to say the least. hope yall have just as good of one!
 
i would have loved to see what it looked like when they had to dig out thechairs at baker during that record breaking year...my dad went up that year and said there was a tunnel of snow driving up to the upper lot

i remember i was in middle school around 2000 or '01 were snoqualmie had llike a 120" base at one point and me and the homies jumped off triple60...only time ive jumped a chair

this one time at snoqualmie it freezing rained an entire inch and there was ice in the shape of courdory. getting from halfway up gallery to the lodge was one of the scariest runs of my life.
 
Yeah, people had Spring Break the week before and got screwed. poooooooor skiers...

I on the otherhand loved the weekday skiing in massive amounts of snow! Crystal had like a 22" and a 24" day. Alpy was getting dumped on with 21" or something up top. wowwwwww
 
I missed all of the spring snow due to school -_-

Not this year! Oh wait yeah probably this year again...

Hopefully winter break will be like 07-08~
 
The week before and after spring break was the best skiing i have done in the last couple years. it was beyond epic
 
I was 10 when that happened, used to ski at baker a lot more and I remember getting stuck in the pow a lot. I also lost 2 pairs of goggles and 3 hats that year lmao~
 
Last year I went to mt hood meadows in march for 3 days. It snowed 33" in 2 days and was pretty empty the first day. Super fun
 
Best day 'pow-wise' was with you, Zach, Heim, Sherpa, Gunder skiing/shooting that colllldddd 7 feet of pow under full blue in mid/late November also 4 years ago.
A shot of sherp just showed up in Ski Canada, randomly.
That was one day I wont forget. Some of the best snow ive skied/shot.
