Seems like the PNW is the place to be right now - i've never been.... I want to look into hitting up the PNW this year and want some advice.... what's the best place to ski / stay etc etc, your oppinions... Baker is looking epic right now... but what about Crystal etc? So if i fly into Seattle, anyone know of cheap places to stay etc.... or suggested Road Trips?

Thanks peeps....

^^ never take scott##~ seriously.

PNW is pretty good. if youre looking for pow, go baker or maybe stevens. for park, go stevens or snoqualmie. for a chill local mountain, go white pass. white might not be good if youre flying into seattle though.

Baker= lots of pow almost garenteed.

stevens= great park+ pretty good pow especially if you hike for it

crystal= no park lots of pow (long lines though)

snoqualmie ( aka snocrummy)= ok park not really any powder. sorry to hate.

it all depends on what you like

PSA: If you go inland you will get the same quantity of snow at a much better quality. Think north Idaho/western Montana.

Baker closed indefinitely today, a pole snapped and it fucked a lot of shit up, but like the guy above said, Idaho is great. Plus rain is forecasted everyday until July 5th.

Baker esploded guys, goddamn.
Steven's is where all the cool people are. Baker esploded, so it's no more. And Snoqualmie is for all the gangsters.

NW can be great, except for snoqualmie, it only rains there, so you should make the extra drive and go elsewhere. If you do go to snoqualmie pm me though ill show you around. in the rain.

^eh maybe. the one day i went on a pow day most of alpental ended up closing hahah. stick with stevens or baker.

Nice one peeps.... I just checked out Baker's opening day photos and holy shit, that looked like the most legit opening day on record ever.... out of anywhere!!
Where's a good place to stay nr Baker base? I hear Glacier is like the nearest place with accomo?
Whats the drive like from Seattle etc etc? Basically - I know this is NS, but on the off chance anyone had any real advice, that would be sick - note though, i'm not expecting anything useful... ha.

have you been to baker?????? i think i'm gonna go there on a trip with my 2 friends but my parents won't pay for it. is there a sweet park at baker?

no i agree baker gets more snow, but it doesnt just rain here on the east side. we get super dry pow.

mt baker is about 3 hours from seattle....if you want accomodations, stay in bellingham, WA which is about 55 miles away. It is NOT a resort whatsoever, but some of the best skiing in north america at the best value ( ~$38 per midweek ticket)....if you have transportation its easy because they take very good care of the roads. if you don't have transportation you probablty shouldnt have a hard time hitchhiking but its good to be with someone who knows their way around.

in all honesty, you should come here and see what its all about for yourself...you wont be dissapointed

we don't get as much snow, but it is better snow. this makes our season start a little late usually because we don't have the amount of moisture to start building a base real well.

nice one - yeah really pysched to hit it up - anyone ever stay in Glacier or near the hill? must be some kinda lodging?

Staying in Glacier is pretty nice, but alas... Baker Mountain Resort esploded so there is no longer a mountain.

def lodging in glacier, but its gonna be more expensive and it has way less of an apres ski scene (like 2 bars/restuarant and a grocery store). you'll have much more fun in bellingham. after all, it is a college town. either way you'll have fun skiing the bestest mountain EVER
