anybody made a kicker out of plywood? im puting a 7-8 footer in my yard.. but should i cover the ply wood with something before i put the snow on it, or no.. and any tips or problems i should loook out for from the beginning will be helpfull, thanks.

ummm...u want to make the jump really long...not steep...cause it wont give way like snow does..u fall into that it'll hurt like a bitch...try to over the jump with a good base of sno and ice it down...not all ice...so u still get gripp but so it doesnt just slide off the ramp...

it definately helps to put carpet underneath... if u get ghetto at any time of the year, you can make do with littler amounts of snow bcuz the carpet holds a lotta moisture, hopefully thatlll help!

ive got a 7' long 1.5' tall kicker made from ply wood i use for skating mainly, but it works for skiing to, dont wory about sticking if its smooth wood, i only need to toss a little snow on it and it slides fine, heres a pic of one of my friends on it on a skateboard:

mmmm skis

use marine grade playwood so that it won't get waterlogged. go to a store and get some carpet samples to place all over your ramp, thie is good since the carpet will hold the snow better than wood.

make sure you nail the carpet to the ramp

^^other wise carpet slides off when momentum gets on it. i say just build a jump out of dirt then use that as a base. or just gather snow and build it all from snow.

if youve already got a ramp that you want to use, great slap some carpet on it and get nice. if not dont waste your time and just build that shit outta plain snow.

Just get some hay bales to make your jump out of. if you want to see a sick jump made out of hay bales, search 'Charlie Perkins Flair' in the movie section.

i mahe one in my back yard. all i did was get a plywood board. place it on some buckets to rop it up and put snow under it. then you can keep it there and put snow on it, or u cantake it off and take the buckets off and it makes a mold for the jump. it worked for me.

if u already had a hicker, u could fill it with snow and do the same thing that u would with a bucket of sand and then u have a mold of it, u can make multiple kickers quicker
