Plyometrics

hey im thinkin about beginning a plyometrics program and i was wondering if any fellow nsers have done plyos and could tell me about like the intensity, gains, etc.

i started doing them for my extreme sports conditioning class but i did too much and fucked up my knee. Make sure that you start out slow.

They will help you jump higher, which will ultimately affect how hard you pop off the lip, which is good.

i used to do the program "Air Alert III" i think it was called but i had to stop cause i got achilles tendonitis. not from the excercises it was just from other stuff.

at 5'8" in 8th grade I was already able to dunk with strong hand off strong leg, but after like a little over a month on the program i prob gained maybe 2" vertical which helped a lot. it also helps with explosion in sprints and just general quickness and responsiveness.

definately a good idea to look into not only for skiing, but just for general sports. the workouts were more fun for me than any other stuff really cause it was different excericses than i had ever done before, and i could really get into them. i'll try to find the link, otherwise just try searching around for "Air Alert 3."

just dont go all out the first day - i did, and it seemed easy enough until the last set when your legs are on FIRE and then you can barely walk for a week. true story - a week...

plyometrics will do a lot for your vertical and yeah, super fun workout. Air alert is good, i didn't follow the program but i did the exercises and they're really good.

Haha I know what you mean. I don't think I quite reached a week but it was definitely a few days.
