works decent costs not too much. If you want a quality box tho, spend the extra $$ to get puckboard, lexan etc.

a friend of mine used High Density Poly Urathane or something from home depot...said it was a bitch though for like 80 bucks a sheet...not sure what a sheet is though...thinkin 6x6 or something

^yeah that's what we used. Polycarbonate.

Close to $80USD at Home Depot for a 3 x 6 sheet or something like that. The stuff is really expensive.

Our's is now broken. So if your going to put the money into it, I have a few suggestions for you.

First of all, ours broke because we didnt have the edges protected. So if you landed hard on one of the edges of the polycarb (lexan) you would start to fracture it little by little. Until, it eventually would crack and break.

So, that's why boxes at resorts have metal bars or square tubing running flush to the box. This prevents you from ever landing on (or even touching) the end parts of the lexan. As long as you stay on the top part you'll be fine.

P.S. The stuff worked AMAZING. So, if your in the mood for dropping $200 on a box, at least do it right so you don't end up dropping tons of money on a broken box.

i hear that this stuff called lexan is wicked sick for boxes but its not cheap.. i don't know much about it.. i know its availble at home depot though..

 
lexan is bullet proof,

literally, its used for he windowws in planes and in safety windows, theylle stop a 9mm

what do you think about cutting a pvc pipe in 1/4s ?

just how would you get it to stay in place? any ideas?

The deal with making a box is you gotta drop the doe if you want a good one, they cost money and if you want to make a good one you have to spend money no way around it...

 
why not make a rail like a wakeboarding kicker....meaning like 5 pieces of big (like 3 inch) pvc pipe screwed in right next to eachother....seemse better and cheaper than all this ish

if you wanna go real cheap go to the nearest arena and ask if they have any extra boards that aren't going to be used, and a buddy went to two arenas and got a bunch for both of them

PVC cracks. Is there any good sliding stuff besides lexan, because I want to make a flat down box, and Im on a budget.

Imagine the ns outcry if u(lateralis) were banned. There would be countless threads and petitions to bring u back, it would be like when treadway got banned from whistler. Someone would probably make and sell 'Free Lateralis' stickers and shit. -j
 
lexan runs a couple hundred dollers depending on the thickness

i use pvc and it works great..got it for free from a construction site..mine is like 1/4in thick walls of three inch across pipes

have two of them side by side mounted on a board..perfect box....could also make a rail out of them.

and i have two of these in about 10' segments so can make some kink rails and shit
