Why?

I got involved and into your movies in 2005 with whiteshine. loved it. met with you guys, sessioned. greatest time of my life.

then skimatic came out. umm ..? respect for the originality, but it was a controversial film to say the least, it was a love or hate.

And let me say the pre order on both was sick, a t-shirt, stickers, and the movie for under 30 bucks.

This year they had to step it up. For all those they lost last year with skimatic.

1)The trailer came out late

2) It had what, 11 small clips of skiing, and a few life style ones? half of it was advertising and the intro.

3)The site links you from plehousefilms.com to plehousefilms.com/skimatic to watch the SAVE teaser .. ? and to go to pre order it takes you to last years page, just the SAVE movie. confusing.

4)The pre-order no longer comes with a t shirt.

im sorry but i think im out. all my own opinion.

sorry if im not cool enough as you are and that makes you feel the need to hate on me? if you dont give a flying fuck about what i say, why bother even spending time replying?

actually theyre quebetian! close but no cigar.

and Im just saying it looked like a trailer from 2001.

I bet the movie is good though.

Well, I think redtape and whiteshine are two of the greatest ski movies ever. Whiteshine totally blew me away, the skiing, the editing, the creativity. They used location segments perfectly and provided a ski film totally different than any other movie ever created. Skimatic, however, was a step down from Whiteshine. It had great skiing and the lebanon segment was great. It's just I hated the animation thing. Sorry, the rest of the movie was great, ut I dont like watching pro skiers dancing around a machine clapping. But that is no reason not to like plehouse, either is a bad teaser, which wans't that bad. I don't see how people care so much about teaser anyways. I find that they don't even give a great representation of how the movie will be anyways. Plehouse will always put out great movies. They will always be different. They will always be creative. They will always show some sick skiing from an incredible crew that not many others film with. I think your stupid if you don't buy Save because skimatic had the animation, or the teaser was less than decent.

Actually. plehouse is giving out bandanas instead of a t shirt. personally. I need a bandana more than a t shirt, so it should be sick.

Dan told me that they took a year off with upgrading the website, and next year or during this year they will be upgrading both the online shop and official website....

i loved exact science and red tape. after that i havent been a huge plehouse fan at all. their movies are sooo short and aside from jf houle, bibby, favre, and gagnier i'm not too stoked on the other riders in the films.

Skimatic was pretty solid but way too short... I know that this will generate mad hate but I also find that they dont put enough effort into their films, this is not to say that they dont put in a hell of a lot ... but it take more

word to that... And in response to the criticism of the teaser, i mean the only thing that teaser lacked to me was length, sure it was short but in all reality that's what a "teaser" is, so i dont know, yea it was short but the quality was pretty legit anyway. I'm sure the movie will be dope, and you know raymond slays...

Whiteshine was so amazing, they simply hit the nail on the head with that movie. Skimatic had a few good segments, but nothing amazing except Lolo's, and the rest just seemed uninteresting and short. I love and respect the Phils for all they've done, but small 360s with a poor attempt at a safety grab shouldn't be in movies anymore. The "skimatic" idea could have been good, but it turned out lame and tacky. I really hope they turn it around with Save, but the trailer and rider list don't get me too excited.

so am i the only one that thought that they had the best trailer out of the ski movies this year. then idea. those were the only trailers that were up there with the snowboarding trailers. and they were not there either the rest sucked balls in my opinion, except the tgr one, they just do their own thing. and pull it off. but the rest of the trailers were shit this year.

Yes! Their site looks so much less inviting and proffesional than say, jibij, or evo.

It's about time for change.

Personally, I liked SKIMATIC a lot, I think it made top 3 best movies last season. Tanner movies are ten times worse than Plehouses. However, I do agree that their website sucks and having it so out of date makes the company look reall bad.

the only really bad news with plehouse is that WOODIE BOUMA HAS QUIT SKING!!! if they don't get a/some decent big mtn rippers in (lord i hope they do) no way i'm a buy save...

ski matic laurant favre, bibby, frank raymond segments (sp)

end of thread

exact science set a new standard, red tape was a sick movie, white shine was even better and had great flow, ski matic had amazing skiing and originality that i haven't seen since tbc, save should be dope

i agree that the lebanon segment was incredible. the whole movie was really - definitely my favorite ski movie of last year. but the lebanon segment...wow, perfect. and not just because of the skiing. i mean, yeah there was some sick stuff in there - lip blind 2 on that down flat with a cross rail, that urban c, etc. but i think the sickest thing was the integration of the skiing and the lebanese culture. like jibbing a machine gun with a bunch of soldiers standing around watching, bomb drops from under-construction buildings, that concrete water-skim thing. and all the shots of beirut and the lebanese people were beautiful. actually, one of my favorite parts of the segment was the opening couple shots of the barbed wire and the plane landing next to the ocean.

somebody in another thread compared the lebanon segment to the lss japan segment and had some valid points i think. the level one trip segments are sick and all, but the skiing doesn't mix with the local culture really - there's just shots of people skiing similar stuff to what they would in north america mixed with shots of the "exotic locales." like, here's a shot of us skiing sweet powder in the trees, but wait, don't forget we're in japan, look - signs in japanese, check it out, we're eating sushi.

anyway, i think plehouse is still sick and does a better job than anybody making movies that are beautifully shot, perfectly flowing, and incredibly unique and creative.

and i've also loved all their other movies. the iceland segment in redtape i think is one of the best ski segments ever made, i'm surprised it doesn't get talked about more.

umm? if your into that i guess. Seems like he pushes that image thing way to hard.. open jacket in pow, jerseys, ?

as for the actual skiing i cant complain.

ive heard from someone who talked to two major plehouse skiers that they feel the same way... they are through with them.
