Will do! Also fuck all the "America has the greatest health care system in the galaxy" people..

It's so shitty that people have no other option but gofundme to not die. People traveling to other countries for surgeries etc. Murica.

Sorry.

Get well soon man!!

Believe it or not a lot of people travel to the US for healthcare because they can’t wait for 8 months to have a procedure done.

I mean a lot of people in the US don't get any procedures because they can't afford it. Hell they don't even go to a doctor. And I've had 2 friend travel to other countries in the last 3 years for surgeries just that I know of. My buddy got his shoulder fixed in Mexico. Made a little bacation out of it.

A lot of people in the States are waiting forever. Our health care system is trash.

If you can afford it. Not everyone has rich parents or health insurance. Hence the creation of this go fund me for healthcare bills like hundreds of thousands other Americans have to do or they just suffer.

Donated cause Peter sounds like a rad lifty.

Are you saying that jacking up my medical insurance premium by 511% under the affordable care act DIDN’T suddenly mean everyone else got insurance too?

Nah, it was never a good setup. We need to go universal. All it really did was allow poor people to still not have health insurance, only now you get penalized for being poor.

Hell yeah America!

I know that happened to a lot of people but I think that clause was removed starting in 2019. I’m just a bit salty I had to switch doctors after 8 years and then my premiums and deductible went up.

that being said, I feel for this Peter guy, as his situation sounds like a total drag.

hey op, if he doesn’t know already, tell your buddy Peter to check with the hospital as they usually have programs where they’ll eat a lot or all of the cost for some treatments I don’t know what would qualify him in this exact case but I helped out a former girlfriend with some stuff like this and we got a huge portion of it forgiven right off the top. Maybe he’ll have similar luck

Attempts a Dub14 w/o health insurance... not to be that guy, but what did he think was going to happen if he didn't stomp it?

Woah. Dick move but whatever. You realize a fuck ton of people don't have health insurance. A ton of people at the mountain dont have health insurance. A ton of people posting edits, photos, etc skiing do not have health insurance.

That's just America.

I'm assuming he's a pretty competent skier. There's a difference between trying a dub 14 you can land, and yoloing one out when you can't 360.

Hell, one of my friends learned dub 10s and slipped on ice in a parking lot that week and tore his shoulder. Idk, im not suggesting that skiing isn't dangerous but there's a huge difference between just sending shit, and calculated risks.

And fuck that. A lot of people would love to have health insurance. But good old number 1 America that isn't a thing. I'd still rather people pursue their hobbies.

Our healthcare system in the UK is free for us, which is fantastic, but there is a downside in the fact it is completely flooded.

90% of people have to wait over 18 weeks for routine surgeries. My Aunt had to wait 6 months for a knee replacement which was so bad she could barely walk.

Vibes to Peter though, if you're gonna do something, do it properly!

I guess the rise of Gofundme is basically a form of healthcare insurance now.

*just before dropping in*

'Bro, a dub 14... you got this, but what happens if you hurt yourself, you haven't got insurance?'

'Don't worry fam, we'll just set up a Gofundme'

Yep, estimated 60,000 to 85,000 people per year actually (over 75% of those are from Latin America and the middle east). But at the other end you have an estimated 750,000 American medical tourists traveling from the United States to other countries.

The US have excellent medical care, just too expensive for a lot of Americans to afford it, which is unfortunate.

Other developed countries have been able to strike a balance and have a similar quality of care while still making it affordable for all their citizens.

I will also add that the lack of affordability is not even really compensated by a higher quality of care when compared to similar countries. (https://www.healthsystemtracker.org/chart-collection/quality-u-s-healthcare-system-compare-countries/#item-start) so the argument that it's less affordable because it's better doesn't hold any water.

The current system is set up with profits in mind (mostly benefiting the insurance companies), when in my opinion it should be focused on quality of care, affordability and accessibility.

Like homie said their is a difference between trying a dub 14 you can land, and yoloing one out when you can't 360. Peter is good skiier and shit happens, their are plenty of good skiiers out there with no insurance who still send hard

14157096:skierman said:
Yeah, sorry but sending it that hard without health insurance was an incredibly stupid decision.

Seeing that video it's pretty clear he knew what he was doing. Just went a little too big, and wind probably played into that according to the description.

Other than going deep af, it looked good, he was calm in the air and knew exactly how to bring it around to his feet.

I get that it's a dub, but him throwing that was probably less sketchy than a lot of people throwing a 7 on a decent sized jump.

Idk, didnt mean to be bitchy in the other post, but life is a bunch if calculated risks. You can't expect somebody to not try anything because they don't have health insurance. The reality is a ton of people don't. He could have over shot it on a straight air, 5, etc. You could hang up on a rail, or catch a weird bump in the landing of a jump.

Skiing has risks. Sure maybe a dub is different than skiing groomers or the small park but we all love this sport. Idk, dude's got enough to deal with without some people on the internet saying "Wtf were you think bro. You don't even have health insurance. You're dumb" as if that helps.

It's the internet so whatever but I feel like on a reasonable cause about a dude getting hurt skiing, people could either donate or ignore it. Other posts don't really get us anywhere. Dude already got rocked, "I told you so" types aren't really helping anything.

Hopefully dude heals up propper to 100%. Good luck.

So not only was he hucking it without insurance, he was doing it on a really windy day with flat light. What a genius.

Hindsight is always 20/20. I can def attest to hucking my meat in less than ideal conditions because I was hyped and overly confident

I see both sides to this. Obviously he’s a talented skier and is good enough to be doing that, but it looked like one of his first attempts just because he didn’t have the axis totally perfect. IMO if you don’t have insurance it would have been smarter to wait for better conditions to try such a gnarlly trick. Hope he has a speedy recovery tho. Sending healing vibes his way.

Yeah, same here but I had fucking health insurance.

WE ALL REALIZE SHIT HAPPENS , NO NEED TO BE A COCK. ONLY GOOD VIBES HERE TAKE THIS NEGATIVITY OUTTA HERE HE KNOWS HE FUCKED UP AND DIDNT HAVE INSURANCE BUT HE IS STILL ONE OF THE MOST SAVAGE SKIIERS THAT I KNOW

A cock that's not 50k deep in medical debt because I'm not a fucking idiot.
