Hi everybody,

I will come to USA for my winter season, from middle december to march.

I come from switzerland. I think that first i will go to NYC for 2 weeks, but than? i don't know salt lake city? i dunno have a lot of money I can't get plane every time.

i tought getting plane to do NYC SLC - SLC LA - LA NYC and back home ;)

can you give me tips to find somewhere to sleep? i have no idea if i will travel with my skis. it takes a lot of place and if i have to take them everywhere it will be a bit boring.

Can we rent some FS ski?

can we find collocation very easy there?

i'm pretty lost thanks you so much

If you want to ski, you should probably bring your skis, but if you're going more to experience the place (i.e. NY) then they could be tiresome to haul everywhere. That's the only advice I can think of, I don't live in the states.

i said, i do a trip in USA. i choose my destination i think

NY-denver-salt lake city- san francisco- los angeles-vegas-san diego-ny - back to switzerland.

but i want to ski in denver and salt lake city but where should i go?

yeahhh thx, i think it's a good choice. i have to find family there do you know website like a repository with family that accept young people from other country? rent a room?

Yep, I'd also say stay in an hostel.

Its pretty cheap and you get to know others easily. Plus there are always infos about the region etc.
 
when you get to New York buy a cheap used car and and you can drive where you need to go, keep your skis in there, and you can sleep in it for free.
 
i dont know man you should bring your skis with you cause most of the rental stuff blows. If you can only fly once you should fly from NYC to salt lake. then ski there for a bit then just rent a car and drive where ever. you can just leave the rental car at a different place as long as its the same company i think that would be the easiest. and you can just sleep in the car or get a mad cheep hotel room. hope that helps
 
if you cant figure out how to get places and where to stay then this probably is not a very good idea.

I will be in contact with snow only for 2 city, i don't reserve my flights because depends if the town is great or no i can stay longer.

yeah renting a car could be great but hum don't know if my driving licence works in USA? and i will get plane for NYC denver and Denver SLC and slc san francisco after that by bus for the coast but anyway if i can rent some good shoes and FS ski i can get my outerwear into my suitcase :D

when we are in SLC or denver ski station are far?
