Please help me figure this ski situation out!

hey guys, i know you are probaly frustrated with noobs asking what skis to buy...ive been looking on the forums for two years but just made an account. But i really need help ive spent the past 2 months researching skis when i should be researching colleges :P

OKAY, so im 5' 1"(i dont wanna ride anything bigger then a 161's-ish). and i live on the east coast so i ski alot of crud & ice. i love the park but im not hard core about it. When i take trips to vermont or upstate and sometimes out wesk i ski powder and alot of trees. BUT MY FAVORITE is finding some decent sized cliffs to stomp. and i plan on going to college in colorado so i need a ski for the long term that can do well in powder but also perform in the park concidering mountain creek(my local mtn) is one huge park.

HERES WHAT IVE BEEN LOOKING AT:

Line Blends- these things seem PERFECT for me BUT 168 is the smallest size...would you guys agree thats a bit to big for a 5''1' person?

4frnt MSP's- they are pretty expensive and i dont know how how well they will perform on park features( i ride K2 PE's now) and im afriad they will be to similar to my current skis.

Some Anthem- ive been loooking at the entire Line Anthem series...im more individual so i wanted to go with octolands(for the graphic) but i have heard some bad stuff about its durability. AND they are advertised as a exclusivly park ski...can they hold their own on the mountain, in the trees and some hucking???

Armada AR6- these skis are nearly impossible to find in my size but it seems like the perfect ski description BUT i researched and found that they fall apart on people after like one session.

sorry to take up anyones time...i just am having ALOT of trouble picking a pair of skis that are perfect for me. Any sugestions on any of these skis or others would be amazing.

thanks everyone

armada alpha 1&2..not sure how they are in powder but the rocker cant hurt, can it!

well...i ride 161's and they are already taller then my forehead...i dont have control issues but i dont know how id deall with the extra 7 cm

and im PRETTY sure that the king fujas are the same way with 171 sizes...im freakin short

the 168's could work. Check out rossignol's line. They are a good brand and have several good options. I justed looked up the S3 BC on the freestyle line and its a 40 piste/ 60 pow. It says it has special technology to preform well in the pow but when your skiing ice and crud it know how to behave there too.

line prophet 90s

not so great in the park... but they are nice for cliffs and powder but can hold the own on the East Ice

available in 165 or 158

nah, the prophets would be too stiff.

i ski mostly park...but when i get the chace to ski backcountry trees and powder i do it allllllll day long

do you think that the blends wouldnt be too difficult to control??

AR6's are basically bomb proof. The bases are awesome and the edge hold is amazing. The only problem is topsheet chipping, but that happens on almost every ski.

the 168 bends would be ill man, thats only 7 cms bigger than what you wanted, about 3 inches, i just bought a pair of 183 and everyones saying to mount them at the recomended -3, since there gona be primarrly my EC pow skis, so maybe mount then at center, or batter yet maybe -1 since your gona be using them for park

and bc is allways a little expensive, what about the salomon gun it comes in a 164 i actually think it might be the perfect ski for you

Thanks, the blend is making its way back to the top of my list.

BUT, ive been doing alot of research on the alpha 1 and the alpha 2 looks SICK!

pretty expensive but the idea seems pretty legit. if i ride 170's ill acctualy be riding like im on 150's! do you think this would be a legit everything ski??

im willing to try new stuff, looks pretty awsome

these are sweet skis. they would be good for what you want. definitly make sure they're short enough for you tho. i skied on some that were too long and it was quite difficult. they would have been amazing if they were my correct size. i have anthems and i love them in the park. i had got a pow day in colorado last year and i skied them in that and they were wonderful i had no problems at all. Even with the center mount they were fine. i would recommend those.

161 volkl wall. stiffer ski, but better for the crud and ice on the east coast, 87mm waist, symmetrical... good one ski quiver for an all mountain aggressive skier

the kung fujas comes in 169 at the smallest...

i know how you feel, it sucks not being able to ski a 170 since most of the better skis start at 168ish

thanks for all the suggestions guys...

but iive been talk to iggy and i thin im going to go after the ON3P jeranimo!

it seems to cover all the characteristics that i want...they are 171 cm but they should ride like a shorter ski due to the rocker.

let me know what you think about that option(its looking pretty good to me)
