Halloween is coming up and partying is sure to be had.I lost a friend today to drunk driving. He was a passenger in the car. All 3 were wasted. The driver missed a turn, hit a sign, the sign came through the windshield and killed my friend. Snow is tough enough to drive in, please, oh please make the wise choice and walk, cab, or sleep wherever is safe. Just don't drink and drive.
Have a safe and happy halloween.Sincerely,Pete

Hate to be a complete dick but your actually statistically more likely to get killed drunk walking than drunk driving. Doesn't stop me agreeing with the thread big time though.

Vibes. But Can't sign this. Will be chilling locally for halloween though. If I were anywhere else I wouldn't drive weather it was 4 beers or 14 beers. And if I get fucked up I'll get a ride with someone.

I got a DUI last year. If you need a "REAL" reason to not drink and drive... I owe my parents $2000 and I'm 20 yrs old... real classy... don't drink and drive... fuck cops... Eat acid instead...

Words of the wise right there. Back to the OG post i know someone who ran an old man over because he was trippen on shrooms and drunk. Not a good combination. He was 18 so he got Vehicular Manslaughter and is in jail. Shit blows

If you want another reason, I almost killed myself and had a passenger when I was dumb enough to drink and drive. I only had 4 beers but that mixed with 2am driving and rain.. Totaled the car, insurance doesnt cover it so I have to, lawyer fees are around 9500.. This was 2 months before my 19th birthday, so not even legal to drink in Ont. yet.

Its just not worth it to risk your life over, I felt "fine" to drive but just the littlest bit of impairment can fuck with you, slow your reaction time down enough.

i'm so sorry for your loss..
the day after st. patricks day ('95) my 2 aunts, 2 uncles and the majority of my cousins were traveling to a hockey tournament when, one after another, both of their cars were hit by the same drunk driver. they were in the hospital for months and if they weren't wearing seatbelts they all would've died and i would've lost 3/4 of my family.
please watch out this weekend, even if you're not drunk driving, other people might be.

Aw, man... Pikup- I feel you. Lost a bunch of friends that way too... Worst feeling ever.

Seriously, people need to make themselves available to give drunk friends rides. I do it all the time, and even if I'm sleeping- I've gotten out of bed to go pick up friends that called me. The pain in the ass is much better than hearing they died trying to get home. Don't be a pushover drunk taxi, but you get the picture.

Be safe out there NSers. It only takes once.

I couldn't agree with you more. It saddens me how many people have such little respect for themselves, other drivers, and the destructive power of a car that they would drive drunk. Driving, itself, is already dangerous enough when your abilities are not impaired. Let alone when your hammered.

i like to drink all night then ride my bike home the best. who cares if I die, as long as I don't kill anyone and I'm almost certain the chances of killing someone else while drunkingly riding a bike are very low.

If you think you're a smart person AT ALL, the decision should be easy. Nothing demonstrates stupidity more directly than drunk driving.
Also, chicks don't dig it.

yeah but if you're sober and driving drunk people (underaged) then you can still get fucked.

anywho, +vibes to anyone who lost anyone from this

it isn't worth it

My buddies car, he had about 5 beers (much much less than he normally drinks) and over corrected a when he was drifting off the road. Luckily he only shattered his arm and he is still with us today.

WEAR YOUR FUCKING SEATBELT, IT IS SO DAMN EASY

What I don't understand is the drunk biking laws. You'd think they would want you getting home on a bike and not driving a car.

A girl in my towns highschool was killed two months ago when her friend hit a tree. Man, imagine killing your friend? That would be awful.
But yeah, good advice, listen to him

true but being drunk on a bike is wicked dangerous in many areas
college kids on bikes get killed all the time in boston (especially later summer/early fall when semester starts)
obviously they would prefer you ride a bike than get behind the wheel of a 2 ton missile but either way the laws are put in place to discourage people from doing these stupid things
