Please allow me to properly introduce myself

Hi there all you skiers and boarders out there (this is a snow board site as well isn't it?). My name is Mary O'Neil.......the REAL Mary O'Neil. I live in Minneosta USA and have for my entire life, all 47 years of it! I've been married 23 years and I have two son's ages 17 and 14, and a daughter 11. We are an active family, with the boys playing hockey, golf and the younger one skiing, while my daughter is busy with figure skating, soccer,golf and skiing.

This past winter is when I really took a renewed interest in skiing. As a kid,I lived to ski, hitting the slopes almost every night that I could. I preferred downhill slolom where I raced at the highschool level, but also had fun hitting the mogals as well as some jumping. I'll never forget when I successfully landed my first 360!!! Anyway, this year I thoroughly enjoyed getting envolved with my son and his buddies out at Hyland Hills ski area in Bloomington MN, my home town btw. I was in aw of what the generation of today was doing on their skis and snow boards. I have equal respect for both. God, I could sit at the bottom all day watching the kids going off "Super Kicker" and all the other stuff at the terrain park. Gosh, I wished it was like that when I was a kid, cause that would have been right up my alley!! So out at Hyland, If I wasn't skiing myself, I really took to filming the kids and taking still shots. I'm a beginner photogragher, so next year I will hopefully be better. Its was a blast being a part of my kids life, and actually having them want me there.....they think I'm cool!! I'll soak that up for as long as I can;)

Along with actively skiing, I really researched the various professional skiers of today, utilizing Youtube for the most part. I was mesmorized by all the amazing tricks that are being done today. Where have I been!! Probably at the hockey rink for the past 13 years! Anyway, my passion grew as I spent hours( I have way to much time on my hands) glued to YouTube. As some of you already know, T-Wall is my favorite,with Dumont not far behind. Tom is so very cool or as you all say "steezy",gangster", "sick"etc...BTW, is there a thread entitled "urban ski slang" so I can brush up on the latest terminology? .Call it what you like, but I think he is the coolest freeskier out there. But there are so many great skiers, I love em all. And lil Willie Borm, right here in my town. Gosh I can't wait to see what his future holds for him. What an amazing athelete he is, the sky is the limit!!

So anyway, forget what you may have heard about me. I'm NOT a stalker, I'm not a troller, or at least not intentionally, and I'm not creep. I just am a bit over enthusiastic about the sport of skiing and have a deep respect and admiration for the pros of today. Even at my age, I've got alot to learn about whats kosher in the world of skiers, but I'm willing to learn. God Bless you all, and happy skiing!

When i first read her name i thought it was MayO, So i really think she should change it to that, its pretty legit if you ask me.

My mom asks me about the words I use, and then she uses them at work without even knowing it, like the other day, she dropped "word". Everyone looked at her funny and she had to explain herself. And happy mothers day, or belated mothers day, its still the 10th here, might be where you are, or not.

She typed that entire thread with good grammar/punctuation and spelling (for the msot part)

No alias would take the time to be that neat and orderly.
 
ive never met Mitch or his family but im sure i have either ridden a chair at baker with him or seen him without realizing it... i was actually talking about my dad.... fucking weird.

Haha, we gave Sam Caylor many cookies Christmas time. I wrapped some around in out wrappers of other food, and gave it to him, because of his current position at that point in time, and gave it to him. My Dad also said sam asked him if he wanted to share a "special cigarette", since my pops smokes.

Oh, and your dad is pretty cool too, you mom is nicer than you know too...

Welcome to NS Mary, show some respect people if she is trying to involve herself with her childrens life and help support our sport at the same time then kudos to her. Mary sounds like a very good mother, and I bet every kid wishes he or she had a mother that is half as cool as her. Happy Mothers day Mary and once again welcome to NS.
 
No, unfortunately not, Eli is american, and I happen to be a canadian. but, im sure he could pull a few strings ;) for me.
 
If your son is going to windells he will more likely than not discover NS. I'm going, so hopefuly i see him there

Mary, I am sorry that you decided to join right now as what you see is NS at its worst. every single spring the fourms turn to garbage for the most part especially the Non-Ski Gabber. that being said have fun. trust me as fall turns to winter it gets alot better.
 
So I'd imagine that after being married for 23 years you've got to be getting kinda of bored with what you're workin' (stuck) with.... ;) you just let me know when you're ready for a change.
 
Well Thank you. I never even heard of NS, the name doens't suggest a ski site. I was only thinking about joining when it was suggested by some "sincere" FB friends that it would be a website I would enjoy. Little did I know I'd be thrown into the "Cougars" den.Anyway, I PROMPTLY joined when some guy here PM'ed me saying there was a hate thread about me and a fake account created. I could hardly let that go without comment. I couldn't believe the stuff I was reading, and my pictures and FB comments plastered all over the place. I told my kids about it, and my son says "You need to go to school", I said "what do you mean?" and he told me at school they are cautioned about the hate and lack of security on the internet. Guess I'm too trusting of people, and very ignorant to the goings on of the internet world. I do look forward to some positive conversation at some point in the future, because I love to chat about skiing.
 
Dont take personally anything that is said on this site, it is full of 12 year olds who are bored in the summer and try and make a joke out of everything.

as you can see almost none of the posts were serious.

of course there are plenty of great people on here that are more then helpful. anyone whose name is in green specifically can help you out, just click on their name and you can PM them

But welcome to NS, i feel bad at how you got introduced to us
