i was wondering about playing guitar and singing...i havnt been playing for long...less then a year when i put all of it together...all the times i stopped for a while then picked it back up...

i searched it in the search bar s sorry if there was already something like this..i was wondering if u guys had any tips or maybe something u learned that made it easier to do..i dunno maybe its just me but when ever i try its like i cant concentrate on both so my strumming will change if im concentrating on singing or i cant sing the words if im concentrating on the strumming...

any tips or anything would be appreciated

You just have to start with a song you are really comfortable with playing.

Also, start with a song that is just 4 open chords or something that you can play over and over again...that way you can focus on the singing. Start by just down stroking 4x for each chord so you get a feel for "landmarks" in the lyrics where you break into the next chord.

After a while, you can work off of that into different but easier songs, and then make them more and more difficult.

Some songs are just wierd and strum awkwardly with the words...but whatever. You will eventually just get the ear for where you are supposed to switch chords etc...don't get discouraged, you just have to practice doing both at the same time A LOT. Lock yourself in your room and do it if you are embarrassed to have anyone hear you fuck up. You will get the hang of it.

Good luck.

the first song i was able to sing and play at once was "Wish You Were Here-Pink Floyd". if i can do it for that one, i bet you could, give it a shot.

just start with an easy song u know well and just work on it

wish u were here really is a good song to start with
