all I've ever skied is park city and I'd love to save and have a trip somewhere rad, hopefully near Utah so I can drive there with friends. I have the option to go to hood since my sister moved there like a month ago so not there, I ski it all so thats not an issue hopefully somewhere where the park is epic or not too bad. Where was your fav ski trip besides utah? or what do you recommend? thanks ns!

personally. my favorite resort ever is steamboat colorado. how flexible are you can you plan around weather and wait for a storm?

pretty flexible i was planing on going maybe around february/ march because i first need to work and get the money for the trip.

well steamboat has some epic tree skiing if you hit during a storm. and a half decent park. depends on the week. lol

is there any particular kinda skiing your looking for?

pm me so this thread doesnt get rediculous

Takesabout a month to plan a good ski trip because you definatly want accomidations and you dont want to be looking for them 3 days before your trip oras you arrive, it just will not work that way. Make sure your buddies wont flake out on you because road trips suck ass on your own. and be sure of the route you take dont get lost. It took us canadians some serious figurin' to navigate your Interstates but, worked out in the end.

My favorite trip was last season road trip from Calgary ab to Keystone and Breck. It was a long fucking drive but we did it in something like 21 hours. parks were sick, thats all we went for. except after taking a detour thru Loveland pass I think Id LOVE to ride the BC there. this summer was the first time some friends and I drove to Whistler rather than flying. granted its longer but we felt so much more organized driving then trying to make airports on time, and getting picked up by bus n shit. and once we were there we had a vehicle in Whistler, which isn't all that necessary if you liv in the village, but we were aways away. Anyways, any ski trip ive ever been on has been completely sucessful with lots of good planning. So yah, start planning, because plannins the shit.

word, +k man thanks a ton, this kinda made me realize as long as i have a car and money i can go but i gotta figure out the whole friends deal cuz I'm definitely not going by myself haha and you talking about your past experiences on ski trips helps a lot too. I'm stoked for this one.

if you can get the dollas, jackson is epic. also, check out squaw. hear they have a pretty good park as well as sick terrain

Honestly just stay in park city they had pretty much everything you could want or maybe just treat yourself to a couple day stay at somewhere around alta during a big storm and you'll be set

well park city is sweet, but the best ski trip ive ever been on was to jackson hole in wyoming. Copper mtn colorado is alot of fun too.

Usually we either plan trips months in advance, or hours in advance..... both have their advantages.

If you're driving, I honestly prefer planning hours in advance. I've had the most fun on trips where we just wing it. Ended up drinking beers with some slednecks about 2 seconds away from the Canadian border near Jay Peak a couple years ago, in this tiny little motel when it was nuking 1"/hr...... random chance is fun sometimes.

I like to just save the money, and have a circle of friends who are ready to go at a moment's notice.... then just watch the weather, and when it's looking good pull the trigger, hop in the car, and make reservations via cellphone on the drive up.......

As long as you've got a reliable car, and a little extra $ than you think you'll need, you can't go wrong.

The best trips are definitely when you wing it- if you have no plans or expectations chances of disappointment are almost non-existent. If you're going somewhere far away though, it's probably a good idea to figure out where you're sleeping in advance. For skiing I've never been west of Crabbe Mountain, New Brunswick, so I can't recommend anywhere for you to go though.
