Planning Park Laps

When you’re lapping park do you plan out your run from feature to feature with specific tricks or do you let it just sort of happen as you approach the feature and throw what comes to mind? Personally I really only plan out a run if I’m trying a new trick...

Thoughts?

If I know theres a rail that i specifically want to get onto switch or know that I cant hit switch Ill set that up on the feature before so I dont have to revert, other than that I just flow flow flow

plan it while youre on the lift

See I only do that when I’m attempting a trick and trying to find the right feature for it ya kno. But I feel like most people plan on the lift.

For the most part, I plan my ideal run on the lift. If something goes wrong, for example was going for switch 5 to 3, instead only got a switch 3 then yeah I'll improvise (go switch 1 instead of 3) and still finish my run with "smaller" tricks.

And obviously when only focusing on one feature at a time, surely you've thought out what you want to do beforehand.

I just ski through and hit everything until I find a line I like then I plan tricks for the line, if that makes sense

I always did in some sense, now more. Not really in terms of a plan, but wach run through gives you ideas. Im going to clean up that trick i botched on that rail, maybe plan some tricks for the jumpline, maybe ill take that pole jam to wallride faster, maybe ill throw a new trick on the tower tube down.

Not a concrete plan but just ideas that keep things exciting.

I usually plan tricks that i want to practice and either try that specific trick on every feature that that trick is possible on or go with the flow and try to get a line down with diffrent tricks on each feature

Depends on the day. It's fun just to ski fast and wing it, improvising along the way. It's also satisfying to plan and execute an aesthetically pleasing run, with a good variety of tricks.

I feel im less spontaneous now but also dont ride as hard and throw fewer tricks, but sometimes i have the tunes cranking or just land something, or see a new line and go fo it.

Always feels good. I def miss the days where sometimes i would think of a trick a few feet in front of a rail and just go for it though.

Its good to have some sort of plan at least in terms of what tricks tou think you can do in aome of thw features, but always nice to mix things up a bit.

I usually plan everything, but with skateboarding this summer I tried non planning and it's hella fun, and I plan to not plan my laps this winter
