Plake vs. Hall

As the former mohawk flying god of ski has recently delivered a verbal pimp slap to the current oops I crapped my pants god of ski, I am seeking the opinion of the venerable newschoolers.com community...

Who's cooler: Glen Plake or Tanner Hall?

 
dumb shit I may be, but on an apples to apples level - for the times, who rips harder for where the sport was (Plake) and is (Hall) - Plake killin it in bumps on 213 dh boards, or Hall throwing down bigger than anyone we've seen??
 
PLake is the fucking man for what he did for the sport, how hard he rips and his hair, Tanner is sick because he fucking kills everything but they are Generations apart with way different equipment and shit , access and sponsers.. so like i said .^^
 
Plake is the man. I made his crash of the day once. Decking out on a huge hip, from like 25-30 feet up. Then I was part of the group watching it, and he asked me how it felt. I told him it was the best fall of my life. Haha, truth be told, I dislocated my shoulder. Haha. Plake is gold.
 
Plake will always win any head to head competition just by virtue of what's iconographically ON his head.
 
Wrapping up an episode of his RSN show Plake was all "today was dope...more gangsta stuff", then he recapped the day in Whitefish telling the audience what he had done, but also what he hadn't done... seen a gangsta.

"In fact I don't think I've ever seen a gangster in Montana. Tanner, I love you man, but drop the gangster act!"
 
That may be true, but Plake came before Tanner... therefore the sport may not be where it is today without Plake also.

Plake is sick, but i gotta say thats a stupid comment to make. tanner Hall is not all gangster. If Tanner was a gangster he would be running drugs and shooting people up. thats the definition of a gangster. Tanner just wears baggy pants (which are sick) and has a different dialect of english than Plake. not Gangster. Tanner is one of the best skiers in the world and therefore wins this "battle"
 
Why pick? The beauty of skiing is that we have BOTH of them. They're both great skiers who've done so so so much to progress the sport. Why are we always looking for a fight when we should be looking for agreement?
 
Plakes the shiz, he was all about geting radical and having fun, he still skis day in and day out. I don't think tanner will be around when he's in his 40's.
 
PLAKE !! has my vote..

But I do think these guys are way different in generations, and style...Tanner is so f-ing sick but PLAKE was the Godfather of punk rock style, attitude and skiing. He is an ambassador of Skiing..and has gave so much to freeride skiing. I ve skied with him a few times..He is such a character, his hawk, laugh and love of skiing! much of what you see today gets its roots from dudes like him.

nobody will ever be more truly dedicated to the progression of skiing than glen plake. The amount of dedication he has for the sport is obscene.
 
let's be honest...

they're both kind of tool boxes who have been great spokespeople for our sport. you need huge (and in many cases ridiculous) personalities to promote any alternative lifestyle.

and there isn't one person on this site who wouldn't do anything to be either one of them. they both clearly love the sport and best of all, they get PAID TO SKI.
 
i agree with apples and oranges. it doenst matter wats cool there both just fruits. and if i would say i would say tanner, kus when i saw him in the x-games thats wat got me into freestyle shit
