Places to Ski Near NY

Hey guys, I live in NY and there aren't many great ski resorts when it comes to terrain parks. I've looked around and asked people, but I still haven't found a good park. Looking for a place around 4 hours away max. Anybody know any good resorts? Kind of a hard topic, sorry.

where in NY... the state is pretty large.. if its near albany, ny. you can get to everything in VT/NH in a four hour drive. in a two hour drive, you get most of southern vermont like mt snow, stratton, magic and all NY resorts that are worth going to like Gore, Whiteface, Hunter, Windham..

If by NY, you mean that hunk of asphalt in the far south, I would suggest Hunter or Windham in the Catskills. It takes slightly over 2 hours to get there.

you can get to killington / mount snow / other vermont mountains in under 4 hours from a lot of places in NY

Plattekill over both of those any day.

There's a lot of options if you're in/around the albany area.

Jiminy isn't large by any means but has some great night skiing deals until 10 and it's about 45 from here. Southern VT has Magic which is about 1.5 hrs. Killington another hour from that. Even whiteface isn't that bad since it's pretty much just a straight shot up the highway.

out of curiosity, is there anything near Schenectady?

Not really.

There's also West Mountain. West was never very good but there's been a change in owners and my friends who are real cool dudes are running the park. I'm going to check that out a little this year, it's like 20 minutes from my house near Lake George, or halfway to Gore from my house.

Also there's that mountain that theabortionator does the park for. I can't remember what it's called, that looks sick though.

you are only about 1hr from skiing at jiminy peak at night. id take that any day over west mountain... west sucks. its always icy, never groomed correctly. the rfid system sucks and the lighting at night is horrible. Their park has always been a joke as well. at least jiminy tries and has way better terrain.

Oh the one tim thinking of is Oak Mountain ^

skied oak mountain last year once, theaboritionator keeps up the park very well, didnt have too big of jumps but the rails/boxes were very nice. Nice mountain too, nice trails and pretty cheap tickets. Would recommend it if your not too picky and are in the area
