Hey im job searching for a part-time employment at really anywhere in the portland area. They must be open to hire kids in the 15-17 year old range. Ive emailed a couple places, including old spaghetti factory which I know for a fact hires kids because my 16 year old friend works there. Some place that can hire me for weekend hours only (because of school of course).

Thanks for the help.

+++++++k to anyone who has good info.

oh yeah

Reason : Buy my own things... stop having parents buy things. I get weird jobs to do in the summer with neighbors but now I need something during school/winter.

++k... Ill call them tommorow.

Indoor job preferred... I dont want to see everyone else having fun.

any fastfood joint, are you in portland? or almost any place in the clackamas town center does, any restraunt will hire you as a table buster. literly talk to any restraunt or coffe shop they will hire you

do you know this from experience? Not doubting just asking.

so clackamas town center huh? Ill check that out. Any specific shops?

I refuse to do fast food, Ill do food, just not taco bell, mcdonalds, KFC ect.

personally its from my friends that have gotten jobs around the town center like its nothing. I have not worked there I work for BoardSideDown. At your age, your best bet would be a bust boy, since weekend hours you could works nights for skiing still and they have a million bust boys so would be solid on working your own hours pretty good.

the county will hire you to clear brush. and they wil pay you... but you will be working with kids who are there couse there in trouble.... they pay well. and your out side... ...

but the spagett factory is a good job as well.. gustavs will do that too.

im really not picky...I just want to find a place that wont hire me if im not 17-18.

I applied for like every place in the food court that still had applications + a couple other stores in washington square.

Here's what I did:

Think of some places close by that you could see yourself working at. Work isnt necessarily supposed to be fun but it should be tolerable.

Go see if some of the places you want to work at is hiring. Worst that happens is they tell you no. If they are, ask for an application and be polite/classy.

Finish the app and turn it in (herp derp)

After a couple weeks or a month without a call, follow up. It shows you really want the job.

Just another bit of advice, depending on where you get hired, be prepared to take a UA (urine analysis, big word for drug test).

This isn't really something that requires a thread. You could be able to find work just by asking yourself who's hiring

no where dude. you don't NEED to work so they don't NEED to hire you. welcome to the recession. having a hook up @ someplace is your only hope. meet people, keep going back so they know you are serious about working. good luck dude.
