PK to EOS adapter?

Hey NS,

Found a bunch of old Pentax and sigma lenses in my basement the other day (that were previously used on a pentax k1000), and discovered they were still in prime condition. I am shooting a short film in about a week, and was wondering if anyone had ever tried to mount them on a DSLR and shoot video, and if so, how did they look?

Depends on the lens. It's possible but could require modification of the lens (removal of aperture lever, lever shield etc..) some lenses will not fit at all and murder your mirror.

I bought a basic 7$~ PK to EOS on Amazon about a year ago for two vintage lenses and I love it. They work pretty well and I haven't had issues with it, and for the price it's really hard to beat.

I'm planning to use a pentax 50 mm and sigma 70-200, if that changes anything.

I have a 50mm f1.8 Pentax lens, from my moms old K1000. I was playing arround with it, and they work great for "Lens Whacking" basically, you hold the lens infront of the camera with out attaching it and it makes the footage look really different... It takes a bit to learn but really really cool.

Film Riot did a video on it a while back:

Yeah, just a $10 ring does the trick. If it's loose just fold a little piece of paper and put that between the lens and the adapter.
