PK Hunder just won KOS

PK!!

and the best part: i called all 3 tricks he would throw, in the right order!! CLAIM!! check the other thread for proof.

1. PK Hunder

2. Jon Olsson

3. Phil Casabon

(Because this is NS, I will note that Henrik was, 7th or 8th, stuck a switch 12, fell on a switch 14. Tom Wallisch didn't qualify for finals.)

Jon is awsome for being the oldest compeditor there he got second with all the young kids. The guy still has it for sure.

^Simon was using clear lenses.

^^ Not only did Jon get second, you could argue robbery (if you were inclined to second guess the judging, which I thought was pretty solid overall), because he could not have stuck that last double any more perfectly. He claimed it pretty hard, too.

huh? but those two are the best park skiers in the world!!

those of you who said, and will no doubt continue to say that twall and harlaut are god's gift to skiing: get back in your box. the likes of pk, jon and jacob today demonstrated that they are on a different level.

The reason people think they are the best ones out there is because you don't see people like PK putting out edits all the time. Just look at the top videos. There are like 5 edits of henrik harlaut there.

ME! I don't mind them once, like if he had done the double flip first, then some sort of double cork 10 (like pk's), then a steezy sw 7 or 9 I would have been stoked! But just don't the same trick 3 times and adding a 180...? I was really glad that PK overtook him!

1st PK Hunder

2nd Jon Olsson

3rd Phil Casabon

4th Jacob Wester

5th Simon Dumont

6th Aleksander Aurdal

7th Henrik Harlaut

8th Gus Kenworthy

9th JF Houle

10th Ian Cosco

11th Richard Permin

12th Oscar Sherlin

the difference is not in skill, it is in training. pk and jon TRAIN for contests. twall just gos out and skis, i guarantee if twall actually trained for comps he would slay

Damn PK is killing it this year! Gutted I missed it (was watching rugby instead :/)#

Any edits up yet of the contest? Just been on the KoS and there is only pictures so far.

Ha! That is such an absurd comment... Simply ridiculous..
For one, have you ever been skiing with PK? Do you really think all he does is TRAIN for contests? I don't think I've ever heard that word come out of his mouth..
Secondly, what really is training? I would say that just about any form of being on snow with skis on your feet would be training, no matter what you're doing... What would be the difference between Wallisch or PK going out and hiking a jump or rail? Is it just because PK wins or podiums in just about anything he enters that he must be training all the time?
Thirdly, please don't think this is directed as hate towards Tom. I would say these two (PK and Wallisch) are some of my favorite people to watch ski and ski with...
Love...

not at all. he never really trained last year and barely competed. as far as i know he spent a few days at the water ramps (if that), and a few weeks at hood coaching. that was all. hardly a whole summer in NZ training or in bumfuck wherever hitting water ramps all day.

No, he's not. No disrespect to Jon or PK, both are incredible skiers who deserve all the credit and recognition they get, but Harlaut and Wall are the future of park skiing. No questions asked. Did you see Wall's zero? His 7 to late shifty 3? His flawless double cork, for that matter? Harlaut's 1620? Double-grab 1440? A lot of that shit from Turbo they didn't even train to do, they just went out and threw it. PK and Jon may have the comp scene locked now, and again I respect the shit out of both, especially PK, but Harlaut and Wall are perhaps a season away from taking over.

not to be a dick, but there really weren't any lenses in dumont's oakleys...sorry...i looked closely at it because it weirded me out

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA i find it funny that Wallisch didnt even make finals.....

A very large majority of people on this website were so sure he would place in the top 3.

But when matched with the likes of PK, Jon etc etc.......he didnt come though ( which im certain will happen alot if Tom chooses to compete in the bigger comps)

again, tom doesnt train. he didnt do water ramps and NZ all summer. he's still a full time college student. its not even his living (yet) to ski. thats pretty damned impressive considering he put out one of the best park seggies ever.

Gus almost killed someone, 1:00

King Of Style qualifications from Jon Olsson on Vimeo.

Since it was the king of STYLE, I wonder why would he try a switch 14, or a 12 for that matter (yeah i know Pk threw a 12 and one it) when he could have done a smaller spin that he could make smoother and hold a grab better? Also I din;t get to watch any of it cause it wouldn't stream for me :(

Scoring for slow stylie tricks was a bit of a crapshoot. Simon got a good score for a 7, but that's Simon, and he carried it really far. Regardless of the name of the contest, big spins and doubles socred better in general. Henrik (and this should be addressed to the guy hating earlier) scored pretty well on his switch 12, well enough to place him 7th even though he bailed on his other two runs and it was a best 2 of 3. If he had held onto the landing on the sw 14 he would have had a chance at the podium, I think, or at least top 5.

The real tragedy was JF Houle not being able to stick his double, it looked amazing. The 2nd half was super laid out. Ian Cosco (according to LVV) qualified first, but couldn't hold his tricks together in finals. They looked good in the air though. If he can get them consistently I'm dead positive he can make more than a couple podiums this year.

I still don't believe Simon didn't have lenses in his goggs.

Mike C: "Training" would be what Andreas did to get ready for the X Games last year. Some guys are just machines. I would put Jon in that category too.
