PK Hunder joins Head

Head is killing it lately. Same with Nordica, pretty cool considering they how much hold they have on the race market.
 
Anders Backe, Simon Dumont, Mikkel Joraandstad, Jon Olsson, Jesper Tjader, Kaya Turski and now PK hunder + more. Pretty sick lineup actually, even though its pretty full of Scandinavians ;) Really cool to see how Head has been focusing more and more on freeskiing the last couple of years. I guess alot of race oriented brands really starts to widen they're spectrum these days. Awesome to see.
 
was thinking the same thing. schiller is back for this season and im hoping hes going to have a killer season
 
So much stoke here. It's really amazing that PK can even walk after breaking his neck. I love his sleepy style and stoked that he is riding for head.
 
I'm all for skiers getting paid, but it still chaps my ass when I see a huge conglomerate like Head buy themselves a stacked team but still don't innovate with products. I can't think of a single Head ski, all I can think of are the pros who ride for Head. I prefer it when it's the other way around.
 
this, and head is not killing it lately. they have about 0 freeski market presence and equal market share. will this change? doubtful, unless the owner of head starts paying freeski athletes out of his own pocket the way he does the racers because the brand can't generate enough cash on its own

Personally, I find most doubles look hucked (however the last few years have been an improvment). PK's look the smoothest, cleanest and controlled. He does not come close to having his corks go inverted as well.
 
you know is NS when there's kids choosing to overlook the fact that head makes, and has always made, kick ass bomber skis and instead bitching that head aren't trying harder to take their (parents') money.

making webisodes with NS's current skier du jour =/= making good skis. offer me the choice between a line afterbang and any of head's freeski line and i choose head every time, no pun intended. who gives a fuck if there's a weekly digest of hipsters making clips on the internets on them?
 
they're so boring though. i'd rather watch gnarly tweaked dubs that shouldn't be possible than textbook dub wobble mutes. bobby brown's dubs are more exciting than his.
 
This. Head makes bad ass skis. Start with their race skis, which are some of the best in the world. Throw in the Caddy and the Oblivion (in my opinion 2 very good park skis) and I call that a top notch line up of skis. Their big mountain/pow skis might be slightly lacking, but you know when you're buying them you're buying a well made ski.

Also, to the guy talking about "not possible" doubles, it's just a matter of opinion. To me, a super subtle dub cork is much harder than just flipping around 2 times. I prefer spinning over flipping, and I've always been that way, so that's just me.
 
I'm surprised that his comment surprised you cause cause a little while ago, pk's dubs were everyones favorite.
 
Seriously? I couldn't disagree more. PK's style is ridiculously smooth. His dub wobbles are amazing and the rotation is pretty unique. He's been doing it that way forever and still no one I've seen does it quite like him. PK is a standup dude with really good style.

But on the real side of things, I am Stoked! to see PK back in the game like he never left. It has been too long.
 
I just want to see head make an awesome park ski, they definitely have the technology, materials and facilities. And between their team and engineers and everybody else they should be able to turn something out. I don't hear much about the oblivion ski, I've never seen anybody riding it and there's never been a demo near my to try them. Never see them mentioned on here either.
 
I hear they are stoked to have PK, but dont forget about about Kaya Turski, Simon Dumont, both Red Bull athletes. Not to mention Jesper Tjader, Anders Backe, James Heim, Mikkel Jørandstaad, Jochen Mesle, Espen Fandes, Timy Dutton, Torgrim Vole, and more.

This is exactly heads problem. They are trying to (buy) some exposure! too bad all nearly all their team are "has beens"
 
Agree to disagree, Tom does have the cleanest landings (afterbang) but the rotation I feel is not as smooth or clean as PK's. Personally feel there are a couple of skiers inbetween the two of them when it comes to doubles.

Its good to see older names like PK making a comeback I feel like they were in the shadows the past few years with the emerging of online edits and seeing all these different AM's kill it.
 
K2 Factory Team? You mean K2 sweat shop team. K2 made in China shit.

HEAD makes way better skis and until this year they never even tried to be a company that cared about this aspect of the sport. They had a few riders and that was it. I hear great things are coming out of their compnay in the next few years. Kaya Turski and Pk are just the start and after trying their skis a few times, their gear rides so well. So stoked for HEAD and to see what they do.
 
I think they are just building a team. I hear it was PK's choice to leave K2 for HEAD because they have a new and better program to support their athletes.

actually, it's you who does. my statements are supported by SIA and JFK (Europe's version of SIA) marketing data. i never said anything about the quality of their skis, which is for sure good. but their market presence and market share in the freeski world is pretty much null.
 
if this IS the head/tyrolia ns account, then I think you need to rethink how you handle criticism and work on your pr skills...
