Pivot heel conundrum

Was looking at my pivots and noticed the circular heel piece has completely over shot the white indicator tab. I tried tightening the screws and rotating the heel to try and get it to sit normally, but nothing helped. With Boot in the binding it still sits improperly. Is this an issue? Has this happened to Anyoen else?

i haven’t been pre releasing or anything, so it doesn’t seem to be affecting performance but who knows.

first pic is how it should look, second pic is the messed up one.

Yes to both.

So really I have no idea to where my

forward pressure is at but both acls are still intact miraculously

Twist the heel all the way sideways and the indicator should seat itself when you turn it back

Mentioned that in the op.

no luck.

doesn’t seem like it’s a white tab issue, but rather the heel plate itself.. which led me to think that the screws weren’t in all the way... but that’s also not the case

So you obviously could get it to go back to normal at least for the photo. That means the question is what is happening to make it go to the 2nd photo position.

is it physically sliding back and over the white piece or what are you seeing?

edit: just from looking, it looks like the piece is loose so that makes me think the back two screws are loose/at an angle or the brake cover thing is off. But I’m just spitballing

My pivots are in my locker at resort but I’m going to go study them when I grab them on Friday and see if I can come up with any ideas.

no it literally wont go into the right spot. i have two different skis with another pair of pivots for refrence photos. red sidewalls with the orange dildos are the messed up ones.

i cant get the black circular piece to sit in front of the white tab properly. back two screws are tighter than tight

thanks homie.

When did you notice? Could it be a bad mount?

If you look at the correct one, the top of the white piece has a sharp edge, while the top of the bad on is rounded over causing it not to catch.

when you click the boot in the downward force pushes the white piece back into place, so the forward pressure should be relatively okay but you might want to get it checked by a shop.

if you have donor pivots and like taking things apart that piece is replaceable, but kinda a pain in the ass.

you most likely ejected, turned the heel back to regular and didn’t notice that the white tab was in the wrong place and when you stepped in it broke the sharp edge so now it slides under every time theres no boot in there.

This seems like a more legit possibility. great insight. however, even with my in the bindings the circular plate still sits on top of the white tab.

oh well. ill just ride them. ill keep my eye out for an extra baseplate + brakes.

cheers

Yikes. If you need a new white piece I can send you one. Not sure I would consider riding those with the plate up like that

I would probably be more likely to just replace the whole baseplate, but if youve got an extra baseplate i might purchase it from you.
