Are pivot 18's, 14's, and 12's heel pieces all identical besides the din?

Yes, other than the spring it's the same thing

Same heel, different springs. I've seen people convert a 15 heel to an 18 by replacing the spring. Its a DIY job as LOOK does not sell the springs; you gotta open those puppies up.

yes, but why would you want to do that?

This would allow me to pickup a pair of pivot 12's / 14's or whatever and use them with cast and just move the toe.

Yes you could theoretically do it but it's really not worth doing it. The amount of effort just you gotta put just to crank your DIN even higher than it probably should be is silly
