Ok, so I was wondering if any of the kind soles on here could point me toward a place where I could get a pair of just brakes for these bindings. maybe some one has a set lying around? my friends at a shop tried to bend mine out to 115 today to fit around my ant's and broke one, I also wanted to pick up an extra one just for good measure seeing as I have 3 sets of the bindings now. can anyone help me out?

On another note concering this binding. is it ok to heat that brake to make it plyable for bending? they were doing it while it was cold and I think that was part of the problem. Iv'e herd conflicting oppinions on this. i would think that because it is hardened steel that it can be heated, you just have to cool it in water. correct me if i am wrong here :)

thanks a lot!

i bent mine just by taking it off the binding, puting it in a vice and beating it with a hammer, works like a charm every time. you should be able to heat it, but you really dont need to. the metal is soft enough to bend with a hammer no problem. use the vice to get the angles you want.

Check out the tutorial on tetongravity.com for bending instructions, that is by far the best method around. For spare brakes you'll have to look around for old Look bindings and nabthe brakes off of those. Either that or find some way to get your shop to order a set of last year's p18 brakes for you.

im pretty sure you could most likely make your own outa aluminum or steel stock. then just figure a way to attach a paddle, or just hook it forward and grind er down.

No hammer! Bend them slowly, that is the best advice you can get for the job. The slower you bend, the less likely you are to break them.

I haven't tried heat before, I've only done it when they were at room temperature. One of my friends is bending the brakes on a set of p18's sometime soon, so if that happens sometime in the near future I'll let you know how that goes.

It's a slightly different design though, so you can't swap them. Or that's what the guys at the shop told me, so it may be worth a shot to ask somebody else.

well, i called rossi today and was on hold for a half hour then just ended up leaving them a message. hopefuly they get back to me!
