Pittsburgh Rail Jam = December 6th

Showdown at Southside Works, Pittsburgh, PA

December 6th, 12 noon registration, comp at 1pm

Open to skiers and riders

Multi skill level set up with a beginner, intermediate and

advanced set up (2) drop ins

Plan is to make snow at site if temps allow, if not we will

have two scaffolding drop in with

Comp will have beginner, intermediate and advance categories

for skiers and riders

Entry fee is $10, going to Special Olympics

Prizes: Cash for advanced class and product prizes for other

categories


Swag toss for spectators, event is located in a parking lot

adjacent to REI, Chesscake Factory, Southside Works is a commercial, retail and

residential development near the river in Pittsburgh, PA

The event is sponsored by Wisp Resort, Hidden Valley Resort

and Southside Works
 
dude i live less then a block away from the Works. I wont even have to drive. Never thought i would see that in the city!
 
i get my license the 6th...i'll see if i can make it up i've got like an hour drive. fuck it if i can't make it in time for registration i'll at least make it as a spectator!
 
Update:

Saturday Jam – Showdown at Southside Works

11am registration, 1pm comp

Big set up with 2 – 3 drop in ramps, we

are making snow at the site Friday – Saturday am, we have bob cat, 7 ton dump

truck – hauling snow for (2) local ice rinks and our box truck, event is set up

for beginners – advanced level skiers & riders, with many different line

and features, we expect to have up to (6) different boxes and rails in the set

up, something for all levels

Fee is $5 which goes to PA Special

Olympics

Lots of prizes and product toss outs, cash

for open snowboard class & open skier class

We will have about 6 different classes for

the comp, something for everyone, lots of spectators, in a Southside Works

which has REI, Cheesecake Factory, lots of other retail outlets, and f & b

and bars in this area, site is a large open parking lot, (2) radio stations are

doing live remotes from the site

All competitors get a nice event t-shirt

with registration

WVU and PSU peeps need to do this!

 
drove by it this morning on my way to work.

IT IS HUGE. Three droppins, 2 of them are over one story tall. The big drop is over 2 stories tall. Tons of snow. A little jump(they werent sure if they were going to keep it or not). Bunch of jibs. Should be ill.

it was pretty fun, setup could have been better though

Sullivan got first, dan zook got second, and Kale cimperman(me) got third, wallisch's parents thought i should have won though.. hahah
 
congrats Kale! would have loved to have checked this out, but went to Valley for free skiing. man missing out on this shit for a couple of years sucks haha
 
heyy way to go man! and i think wallisch's parents have more authoritah than the judges. but you already knew that, so basically you won.
